I didn't have any doubt that it wouldn't... The truck now has my dream clutch installed and what a clutch!
With the advice from Peter(SBC) and a lot of talking to Rod(Wildcat Diesel), the 13" upgrade clutch kit was what I should put in. This(SBC) clutch was going to be the replacement clutch for the one that my buddy and his shop put in. And to make it even nicer my buddy told me that what ever clutch I needed to replace the bad one. . he would pay for. .
Anyway if you are in the clutch market or doing the research for future information. . the 13" upgrade is one clutch to take a look at.
After having the clutch in the truck for 3 days, we headed to a youth camp with a total weight between trailer, truck, cook stove, food. . you name it, it was on the truck. . 17,000k or so.
Starting off up hill, backing up hills(loaded), it didn't make a difference. When you started to release the clutch. . it was a smooth engagement with NO bucking, snorting, shuddering. . it just hooked and you went.
You might say. . why would I need the upgrade? The information that I got on the upgrade was that it has more 'meat' in the middle of the disk. And yes it is higher than the stock 12. 5 SBC, but it will take what we can throw at it and come back for more!
I am talking about exhaust brakes, torque, down shifting. . etc. .
*****This does not mean that the other clutches that are mentioned on the TDR doesn't work. . this is what I have experienced with my truck*************
