Finally got my truck back after about five weeks of down time when my gentrag died. But now I have a new NV4500 tans with a 450hp 1000tq southbend clutch from the fine people at Quad 4/4. Everything works great. And hey a new trany even got rid the 4/4 shifter rattle. Oo.

Nice to hear you are happy with the swap. What did that set you back, might I ask? I have been thinking... leaning toward that swap my self. At a later date, as I have already spent my allowance this week. :{

about 5200 in the trany and clutch. But I had many other extra things done to the trany. like quad 4/4s mainshaft torqu king and a pressed bearing in the new flywheel fast coolers on the trany also. so it could be less depending on what you want

Happy to hear that!! It's tough to be parted from your rig. I haven't driven mine for several months (Nov. 1st) Mods take time I suppose. The only way I can get upgrades is to simply remove parts and make up my mind I won't drive it untill I get new/updated stuff.

That sounds pretty much exaclty like the conversion my brother did on his 92. He went with the 13 1/4" SBC clutch/flywheel/bearing, fast coolers, etc and he just loves it. In fact he wishes he'd done it sooner. Now when he backs up a steep grade he say's he has absolutely zero wheel hop or shudder.

It was a tad pricey but all in all he just loves the change...
