if he'd spun it up a few more time he might of gotten them connected :-laf saw another a few weeks back that had just shy of a half pound on one back wheel and 6. 5 oz on the other scattered around the rim

Somebody is unclear on the concept.....

3 years ago, while I was getting new shoes for my CTD, a Jeep Grand Cherokee came to the shop on a flat bed. 2 flats and 2 very low tires. The owner went in to the counter and a few minutes later, the writer came out and talked to a tech. I overheard the conversation, "Pull it in CAREFULLY, fix the 2 low fronts, and see what's happening with the rears. " I watched it get rolled in and jacked up. The tech started taking off the right rear. I leaned down to take a better look as something didn't look right on the inside of the factory alloy rim.

There was a 6" piece of the safety bead MISSING, leaving a nice jagged edge.

I chuckled, and said to the tech "I don't think that one is repairable. "

He replied "I have to try. " Remember that he hasn't seen the inside of the rim yet... ...

As he gets the last lugnut off, and pulls the rim off the GC, the owner comes outside and walks up to the tech. The tech turns the rim, and his jaw just drops to the ground. "WHAT DID YOU HIT???????"

The owner replies "Nothing. "

The tech promptly informs him that there is now way he's going to be able to fix this particular tire issue, and that he will not be mounting that rim back on the Jeep. The only way that Jeep is moving is either on the spare, or if get buys a replacement rim. And as it's a factory rim, he's not going to get it there.

What's the problem with that balancing method? Each of the weights is perfectly balanced by the weight on the opposite side. Brilliant!

i sold a good set of used wheels and tires to a lady in a old volvo as her tires were bald and rims square, and sent her down the street for a balance (before we had a balancer) and she came back almost crying about how bad it shook and handled, i put it on the lift and had a good laugh at the massive amount of weights randomly scattered around the rims, cleaned all of the weights off and it felt pretty good on the test drive, sent her to another shop for a spin balance

I have seen the wheel balancer tell me to do this years ago. Problem was water in the tire. It had come from a shop air line that did not have a drain.
