Home furnace problem, need advice

Matt

You should have bought a Select Comfort. Would have been easier to move in and less remodeling work. You should have said you needed a hand moving in. I could have brought the Sawzall over.

I missed that sign in the window when I drove up. Everything was going well unloading the trucks and then I made the big mistake. All I said was "since I'm here, I'll help you bring the bed upstairs. " I didn't realize it'd take 48 minutes, and the small adjustment of the stairwell and the box. Talk about trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. I'm just glad Matt had the 3#, and didn't have to get the 15# hammer in the garage.

I have to admit, I was amazed the lengths that someone would go to get a bed upstairs. I thought he was kidding, but when he came back with the hammer and put that hole in the wall. :--) Of course, I tried not to laugh, but that didn't happen. :-laf :-laf

I think it's time to have a bomb party at Matts place. :D Al bring that Sawzall!

The good thing that happened during this time was Matt decided to change all the fluids in his truck over to Amsoil. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

A bit off topic, but we have another saying in the aviation business, ... "measure with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an axe, beat to fit, caulk to fill, paint to match".

The carpenter's version: "cut it to shape, beat it to fit, paint it to suit. "

One of my favorites, though I have a tendency to use that more when working with metal... .

I'm going home tonight and attacking the hot water heater. I think I have a bad element...

I'm going to 'put the screws' to the spring this weekend. Every time you roll over - it sounds like you've spent the day at a chili cookoff.

Good times...

I got the water heater running very well now. The bottom element was bad.

There was about 6" of mineral deposits in the bottom of that tank. The shop vac worked very well to suck all the crud out of there. It would have been nice to have a bigger hole to work through... the heater element hole is sorta small.

I'll leave the explosives up to the cival war enthusiasts that like to use their cannons down the street. Talk about LOUD!

Bad element, loose screws, short a few bricks - it's all good. I've been called worse. :-laf

Matt

I've only seen cannons fire live ammo on TV shows. The projectile is the size of a coffee can - you can literally see it going through the air. If they're pointing away from my house... more power to 'em! :D
