All,

I was doing some searching on breather bottle solutions. I currently have the added length of heater hose without the bottle. It's great for getting the oil off of the front of the engine but it will still drip a bit in the garage. I haven't used the "old sock" trick yet, I'm still looking for something else.

Has anyone tried an aftermarket oil breather bottle? There is a page of them in my latest Jeg's catalogue and it looks like it would work well. They all seem to have a filter on top, a collection bottle and (this is what I like), a valve for draining.

Can anyone think of why these WOULDN'T work? I'm willing to try them out but I wanted to tap into the wisdom of those with more experience than myself. With this many people dedicated to these trucks I don't for one minute think I've had an original thought here! :)

I don't really want something as complicated as the Airsep system, just trying to stay tidy without hurting anything.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the input! I was beginning to think I was the king of starting dead threads:)

Ok, well I'll get working on trying this out and, if I have any luck, I'll post my findings.

Regards,

John

John,

Let us know how it works out and try to post some pics when your done. I lost my old breather bottle and I'm tired of seeing that ugly hose hanging under my truck.

I have one on my ford bronco that started pumping blowby... ... I agree, the space to mount is the real issue... Mine is about an 8 inch X 12 inch cylinder mounted to the radiator core (bronco)... as far as venting and catching oil and fumes it works fine.
