Joined the 4th gen club

Well, i was finally able to find a truck to replace my old 99 2500. I bought a 2011 2500 4x4 Big Horn Crew Cab saturday. So far, i am really liking it. One thing i would like to know. There was nothing on the window sticker about gear ratio and there is no tag on the axle housing stating what gear. Do i have to give my local dealer the Vin to find out? Just wondering.

I know the 3rd gens have a tag on the glovebox door with all the build info, I'd look there or under the hood it radiator support, should be a build tag somewhere, hopefully someone tha actually has a 4th gen can chime in. Seems odd the sticker doesn't have it

If you look at the sticker it will say add on's the gear ratio should be some where on the window sticker I will have to dig mine out

I already looked on the window sticker, rad support, under the hood, and inside the door.

So not knowing that little detail how did you know it was what you wanted?
I'm guessing 3. 73. Congrats on the new truck. They look really nice.

Called the local dealer and was able to get the parts guy to look up my Vin #. After explaining to him what a gear ratio was, he was able to tell me I had 3. 73's.

I think if you have the default 3. 73s it isn't written. I know mine was that same scenario in 2010

My first tow trip is tomorrow. I think I am really going to like the way it pulls down the highway. I am already spoiled by the ride and quite.
