Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Well I just got my truck (bought it as is) and about 500 miles later the 5th gear nut backs off, among other things. I suppose that a normal person might be upset, but it just gave me the opportunity to get to know some more about my truck. Let me just say that TDR has been a great resource throughout the process. We got the transmission/Tcase/clutch/pressure plate removed, repaired/replaced, and reinstalled all in one day. We had to wash up three different times just to get clean enough to touch the computer. All that is left for tomorrow is reinstalling the driveshafts, and a u-joint R&R (and a straight pipe, we got a little side tracked). After researchhing we decided to weld the nut (feel free to flame), and we were very thankful to find detailed step by step instructions here. This is about as deep as I have been into a transmission, and without the search function I would have been lost. Thanks a million, this place rocks!!!
