for those of who might be curious, I went to the local municipal landfill and asked 'em what the scale said for my empty truck. 6540 #'s with one passenger and 3/4 full of fuel.



truck has a diamondplate toolbox on the bedrails with your everyday stuff, nothing of exceptional weight.



btw, does anyone know what a gollon of diesel fuel weighs?

I guess mine has more iron in it, weighs in at a hair over 9000 lbs full of fuel, course thats 130 gals of fuel, tools, suicide jack, tow chains, etc.

Truck weights in at 8900 with 2 full tanks of fuel tools box full of _hit chains jacks and such trucks runs around most of the time at this weight this could be part of my mpg woes!

11,000 pounds of daily driver. Not only does the utility bed weigh in but it makes a great air dam too. Hence 12. 5 MPG on a good day.

I've been building a retaining wall, so I had to get some crushed limestone & pea gravel. The truck with me and half a tank was 6950 to 7000 - so I tell people that if they get in an accident, hope that they are not in a little car and it's not a dodge ram that hits them

I have only weighed mine once, on an old style manual slide the weights kind of scale, at the drag strip, si it may not be really, really accurate..... with no one in it, 1/4 tank fuel (OEM fuel tank) and I'm guessing ~200 lbs of tools in the toolbox, it came in at 7270.

I weighed mine Weds. and it was 3800 # on the front axle and 2880# on the back axle ( 6680# total). That was a full fuel tank, fifth wheel hitch and two pople. No extras of anykind.
