Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) KDP Found!!!

Well friday while replacing a electronic pump on a 98. 5 24 valve cummins I decided to check the KDP, I have heard that cummins fixed the problem for the 98's but I wanted to check, Well the dowel was out about 5/16 of a inch out of the cover hole. It was getting ready to fall!!!! I tabbed it and if any needs to know when the engine was built, it was 5-28-98, Never been apart until the pump went out!:--)

Well we have 175 of the 5. 9 in our fleet, Just about everyone of them have had the dowel moved. Cummins states it's a small problem but, I think that is just because allot of them are not reported or we find them before they cause damage. Cummins needs to step up and take some heat for this. I think they need to get everyone who have fixed there own a free warrenty for 10 years... . Oo.
