2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Keep me in your thoughts

Well just finished the front end, only did one thing wrong: installed the DSS last. Did the TB still lose, T steering a little better, installed the DSS drives like a new truck. When I had the shop install the T steering I had them check the AC not very cold. Well guess where the leak is, under the dash #@$%!



Brings me to the next project AC/Heater core replacement. Took tomorrow off, already have the parts, spent the last 4 nights reading all the posts, purchased a set of deep 1/4" metric sockets. I think I'm ready, going in, wish me luck.

I actually did not think it was near as bad as I had prepared for, i did mine about a month ago... I thought it was rather easy... Just wait till you see all of the crud on the evap core... If you were close I would help you for nuthin... It can be done in less than 4 hours including going to the shop to have the system evacuated... If you replace the evap core make sure you put pag oil in it... Good luck

Just finished!! Your right it was not that bad, it just knowing how to do it. I replaced both cores. I pick up this truck up at a farm in Texas, and the cores were both clean? This is not the first time they have been changed out. I took my time, cleaned everything replaced missing bolts and screws. Monday I'll take her back in and get the systems charged.



I'm trying to get all my little projects with the truck done. Were finally making the move out to New Mexico. I have three different trailers to haul out there, about 5000 miles.

I cheated and paid a local A/C expert to do mine at his place. I knew I didn't have the Patience to even think about that job..... Andy

I have been doing that a lot here lately. DSS they charged me one hour @ $80, even had them do the T steering, another hour. When it can down to 8 hours thats ok, I'll do this myself.
