8' flatbed on short bed

Dump-bed + gooseneck hitch combo??

I am looking at new 5th wheels and looked at a Cougar, built by Keystone RV. It is a 278EFS, which is 28'4". GVWR is 8160#. It is aluminum frame and seems well constructed. Also looked at Montana trailers, (same manufacturer) but they are a little pricier. Does anyone own one of these Cougars or have any opinions to share?
I have never owned a 5th wheel, so I am new to this. The light weight vs. the length seems attractive to me. Any input would be appreciated.

SLVRBLT, I apologize for all of us neglecting you. The units you are asking about are new to me and therefor I have no exp. with them. I will make a few phone calls to some of my wholesalers and see if they can shed some light on the subject. Are you sure you want to buy new????

Barry-
Thanks for your reply. No, I am not convinced to buy new. Really just looking at new ones so I can get an idea of what is out there. Would rather find a nice, clean used unit and let someone else take the hit on depreciation of a new one. I notice your signature says you are an RV dealer. If Granbury, TX is where I think it is (just SW of Ft. Worth?), that's not too far for me to drive. I have a sister in Bedford and a niece in N. Richland Hills that I visit every month or so. If you can help any in locating a nice used unit, or can offer any advice, I would appreciate it since I am new to the 5th wheel scene. Thanks again,
Dave

Hello Barry and SLVRBLT. I have also been looking and Barry I do thank you for the e-mail reply. SLVRBLT I live North and East of you, Collinsville. Found my truck in Austin so driving a little ways to find and possibly purchase a great item is okay with me.
