I removed my kick panels to run some cables, and one of the metal clips that affixes to the tangs on the panels to hold them into place in the body of the truck slipped off the tang and broke. Cheap, brittle metal...

My Dodge dealer says the only way I can get a new metal clip from Dodge is to order an entire panel. What BS!

Maybe these are available at Auto Zone?? Seems silly that I can get trim panel pins for Ford and GM trucks at the auto shop, yet Dodge doesn't stock the fasteners for its door panels...

Does anyone know where I can obtain replacement metal clips? How can I safely affix these to the kick panel so they don't slip off next time I need to remove the panel from the door? I'm wary of using superglue... maybe some sort of fiberglass tape that's epoxied to the plastic trim tang will give the clip better bite so it doesn't slip off next time.

Thanks,

Mike

try p/n 4775846AA AT $1. 25 EA

Sounds like the same clip on my neon R/T A-pilar. I broke a few changing gauges, etc. Let me know how you make out.

you could mail order at www.dodge parts.com

99 2500 SLT Trim fasteners

For my rig I found fasteners at local 'Fastenal' retailer; they fit perfectly and cost $. 28 each (no surprise the dealer wanted $6. 00 each!!!).

Made by Auuveco, part # 13470 (may be Fastenal inventory #?). They are described on box as made for Ford, Mustang, Capri trim panel retainer but fit my '99 perfectly.
