Does anybody know how to tighten the upper control arm rear joint, with the spanner wrench, without removing the front of the upper control arm? I cannot fit the spanner wrench in the space. BTW I love the aluminum control arms. Hopefully this makes sense.

No Bob, I have not contacted the installer. I am the only customer that has had them installed at this shop. Unfortuantely, I live up a 20 mile dirt road (satellite phone/internet only) and about 6 hours away from the shop in the summer time. Just trying to figure out if there is a method that does not require me to remove the front of the control arm. If i have to remove the front of the control arm I am worried that i might need to jack the truck to prevent the axle from rolling over?

How do you like the Carli system? It looks very good.

I have enjoyed the Kore system. It has let me drive like I stole my truck on the dirt. So hard in fact that I shot my body mounts by 35,000 miles, and I am on my second sets of ball joints. I have 47,000 miles on the rig now. I drive 200-300 miles a week on dirt/rock roads, and I use up a set of Toyo M/T's every summer. I would love to ride in trucks with some of the other suspension setups.

Ideally, I would really like to get a hydro-pneumatic suspension. Check out this website: Kinetic Suspension Technology I guess this system is like a magic carpet. If you get a flat it can lift the tire off the ground for you etc etc. Just awesome. Let me know what you think. I sent them an email but have not heard back from them yet.

Don't worry about the axle shifting,it should be very minimal and easy to deal with.

I love my Carli set-up just wish I got to drive it as much as you do your truck.

Bob

Garrett,

Are you trying to adjust the length of the control arm, or just tighten the bolt that holds it to the frame?

In any event, Bob is right, there isn't much of an issue of the axle shifting, just don't adjust the axle height once it is disconnected. Basically, you can jack up the vehicle a little bit, and then block the wheel. Disconnect the front end of the control arm and you are good to go. It's harder to put the control arm back in if the axle height has been moved with the control arm off. The good news, is that the bolt is cone shaped and you can use a hammer to get it started if it doesn't just glide in.

Does this make sense? PM me if you need installation instructions for the control arms.

How is the rest of the system working for you? Did you get the lights installed?

Dersert Proven,I don't know how to spell your name!! Marek? oh well good to hear from you. I am just tightening up the rear joint. i am not making them longer. Getting a new steering box tomarrow, and then I am going to add the DSS steering box stabilizer.

The ligts are incredible. When I turn them off and I only have my regular lights on, my regular lights being my low/high/and fogs on all at same time, i can barely see. they are like the lights you see in alien movies when people get abducted. Incredible!!

About the video... . awesome!. . may i say triple by-pass. i am sure there are some other goodies on that truck.

Let me know the details when they become available.

BTW on Kore's site they mention a hydro-pneumatic suspension for a paris-dakkar rally chase truck. Know anything about this? It made me curious and the only company i found doing thid kind of thing is in Australia called Kinetic Suspension. web site: Kinetic Suspension Technology Let me know if this is what Kore has in mind, if you can.

thank you

The truck in the video is running a 4. 3 inch Fox bypass and a 3. 5 inch bypass in the rear. The lighter weight of the HEMI allows them to really push the truck harder in the rough stuff. In the video, they are flying across the tops of whoops that are about 3-4 feet deep at speeds in excess of 60-70 mph!!!!

The cool thing is that many of the parts on your truck are the same exact parts they are running on the race trucks!!! Full leaf springs, steering damper, anti sway bar, coil springs, lights, etc... ... ...

There will continue to be more new stuff coming, so I'll make sure to keep you posted.
