I have recently ordered a set of KYB Excel G Shocks (front and rear) along with a KYB steering stabilizer. My question after reading several forum topics is this>>>> Are they the correct shock for a 3500 RAM? Initial inspection denotes that they are considerably smaller in diameter than the OEM. The steering stabilizer did not come provisioned with the correct mounting hardware on the linkage end (returning). Most of the forum topics say if you put KYB on it to use the Monomax. Has anyone put the Excel G on their ride? My truck doesn't have any aftermarket suspension, totally stock. I find it inconvenient that I have to return these after several parts stores said they were "recommended OEM replacement" which I find hard to believe. They look like OEM replacement for a T100 Toyota not a RAM 3500 Dually.

Am I being to critical of the diameter?

Any insight that won't empty my wallet would be greatly appreciated.

I would have chosen at least the gas adjust version, when a shock company tells you it is an oem replacement they are really saying it is an entry level and not as good as the factory installed gas pressure shock the Ram was built with.

Stock suspension on my ride. Does anyone have the part numbers for the Bilstein 5100's that fit front and rear? I just want to avoid more returns and what I've came across so far had lift dimensions from 2. 5 - 5, or would the Monomax's be better for stock application?

Are you talking about a Ram 3500 pickup or cab and chassis? The C&C has a lot stiffer suspension and does fine with the ordinary Bilstein blue and yellow from Genos.

I think you're asking about a pickup in the C&C forum.

I have heard that the yellow and blue 4600 Bilsteins are valved/tuned for our truck's stock suspension so they perhaps ride/respond just a little better then the 5100's which are a generic tune for a truck with 0-2" lift. People with the 4600's love them, but then again so do people with the 5100's. I run the 5100's on my truck.

What would you recommend if most of the miles involve a trailer or a load? I am leaning towards the 5100's based on numerous positive reviews.

I know the 5100's are a generic valving, but I couldn't find anything on the 4600's stating they were specific or generic. . or at least anything official.

Years ago I called Bilstein Customer service/Tech support and they were very helpful in answering questions regarding their products.

If you called with part#'s I'll bet that they could help out.

Yes... . I have a 3500 Dually Pickup... . just noticed it was the Chassis/Cab section. Forum moderator can move to proper section if need be. Sorry for the confusion.

I believe I will be going with the Yellow and Blue. Reviews are good along with the information here.
