What do you guys think is the biggest single charger that can be run while still being a daily driver... and daily drive well?

Maybe the b-1 or so?

I'm just concerned because twins puts you in the extreme diesel class or exhibition from what I've understood.

That's a broad definition... My 12V streets rather well, but I ain't going to be passing anybody without painting the sky... .

My 24V? Who knows,, but I have bought all the parts for it to run as a "Streetable" setup. I'm going to be running an HX-55 Hybrid from J. R.

Yeah, see... painting the sky.

To be more specific... trailers will be pulled, stop lights will become drag races, and smoke can't be so bad as to get me tickets.

I think the the grandpa's can help you in the towing and hauling forum then:-laf :-laf :-laf

Well, give me 20 days and I'll let you know how my setup works.

I'm setting it up for exactly what you are talking about, and am tired of shooting 75' twin smoke signals in the air everytime a stop light war is initiated.

I'd like to have two 3 - 4 second 100' smoke signals, then for it to clear up,, which is my plan :)

BUT, sled pulling and drag racing are still in the picture!

Basically, what's the biggest charger I'd want to run for pulling when the truck also needs to be a daily driver.

H2e?

IIRC, kaptn runs a single HX55 or drag racing. It seemed quite streetable.

OK turbo people. . define streetable... I have seen 10 sec. pro-street cars that are 'streetable'.

What I am looking for is a recipe that will pull the horns off a brass bull on the low end. And have enough breathing room to hit a 6% grade with any legal weight behind me and walk up it like it was flat ground.

If that means that I plan and save for a set of twins. . so be it but if there is a single charger that can handle this that is fine too...

As you can see by my sign(my 97)... I am at a point now that I can't use all that I have when heading up a steep grade.

Any thoughts and ideas??????

Thanks

Rick

I think the closest you will come with a single turbo is with a VGT turbo. Otherwise twins are the only way to have the best of both worlds. I guess you could do a 6 stage nitros. :D Boom!

I think that its a requirement not to be normal!

Well I have access to a HT3B(free) so I guess I need to start the shopping list. .

get a hold of this guy

You should send J. R. a p. m. He will help you out. I currently have two buddies running his turbos, and one on the way for my baby. One truck is a daily driver pushing a little over 600 h. p and the other had about 525. I saw it on the dyno. J. R. is a standup guy. Came all the way to our hotel to fix an oil line problem we were having. Charged us $0.

Later, Travis

Hmm. One of the pulls a 25'gooseneck. And one of them is a bad a!@ hodcarrier in Illinois. Maybe you know em. One dudes truck is so bad they changed the rules at a county pull just to try and slow him down. :D Stock transmission and all.
