Clinton vs. Titanic

Please read the following PM that I received .

Note; I have nothing against any of you at all as long as you accept me for who I am  Yes I may be different but aint we all, I may also have posted or responded in a way that was unacceptable for some of you but I do like to test things to the fullest... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Kevin

P. S. why does everybody think I was in it for the post count  I never could give a hoot about it :D and also if any of you like a good F'in joke I know a million of them :p :D :p https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/private.php?s=&action=newmessage&privatemessageid=79977

It was my request to Steve that he post my responce to his PM to all of you so none of you would be uninformed... ... ... . Kevin

Whitmore linked to a private message which doesn't work - only he has access to his private messages. Normally we don't post these private messages but since he wants it out there here it is:

Whitmore, I've removed two of your posts from the 24v forum. Both of them had no information in them and were obviously put there to run up your post count. We recently had to change several features on the site primarily because of your actions in the other forum. These latest posts are antagonistic and you are drawing fire because of it. We will not stand for this on the site. Consider this a strike one as per guideline #2. 1:

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. 1 Repeatedly post any material that the moderators feel is antagonistic to others or instigates non-productive conflict between users as well as vendors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you continue these actions you will get a strike two and a 30 day suspension.

Thanks for the test Steve , I was wondering what I had to do to get a strike on me, your system has passed ,I guess. Seams I like to test things to realize the potential ?

I have been in process for over a year on 2 beautiful bombs to my truck that have been proven to be paramount toward common problems that all 24 V CTD operators share, I have all the preformance results I need to prove their accountibility and reliability issues. I thank all who contributed information and documentation towards my efforts via my e-mail requests, I had intentions of sharing them but was trying to do 2 things , one to stir the whiners and two generate some interest or anticipation towards some fantastic bombs, but now am disgrunteled , I assume that those whiners complained to you so we will have it their way.

I will frequent the site occasionally to see whats up on technology but for some reason I currently posses little desire or enthusium for everyday use. I will continue to be a faithful CTD owner/operator and will also continue my personal goal to fix the oem problems that plague us all.

If any of you ( only the ones with a funny bone ) are in Shoshoni feel free to stop by and we can talk tech on my personel achievments with the truck, also if you Steve feal that I am once again in violation of the site rules and regulations than please foward my remaining time of my subcription to MR. Bushwacker as he could use our help... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... Kevin

The VERY LAST thing we need is anything on the site to "stir" anything. Now can we get back to helping each other out and cut down on the antagonistic, bashing, etc posts? It's been a VERY loooong day.

Another boring thread that serves no purpose whatsoever.

The above is this members opinion and is not that of the TDR or its owners/managers.

Mike

For someone who mentions and complains about whiners, you seem to have the whining done, to a T. Relax. This place is for informative conversation, not whining over spilt milk. If you want to share with us about your modifications to your truck, please do so, you will be treated with praise for your deeds. If you dont want to because of the posting wars, then dont, you will not hurt anyones feelings, and we will not beg you to post about the mods.

Let the hurt feelings heal, then start posting again. Aparently your still Pi$$ed over the changes. Me I try not to stay angry for too long and forgive the ones I find offensive quickly. Try it yourself, you will enjoy life longer.

All it was is humor. Apparently y'all have enough of it in your life, without seeing it on the TDR. Now Kevin's gone, for the most part, who will be leaving next ? Before you know it, the site will be all tech talk and now humor whatsoever. A small mix of both would be nice.

Post counts... who the hell cares. Do away with them all together and just show when we joined. Good enough for me.

Want to give someone a first strike... how about all those that ask the endless repetitive questions without taking the time to do a search.

Personally, I've been thinking of finding greener pastures for a while now. The repeat questions are becoming tiresome. I'm hardly an expert, don't pretend to be one. Just would be nice to see a new thread once in a while on something uncharted. Maybe I just spent too much time here in the past, but I am beyond bored recently.

This a great site and learned way more than I ever thought possible on my truck and the CTD. Just wish there was somewhat more flavor once in awhile. Kevin added that IMHO.

As this site has it's humorist, it also has it's condescending *******s... .

Note to all... . Get off your soap boxes, you will drive more people off preaching thou's and shalls than any humorous thread. I enjoy the other forum the way it was, and quite frequently it was the only thing I checked as I'm not into the bickering of Auto Trannies, Oil types, etc. etc. etc... ...

For those that are praising the removal of the post count in the other forum... . who cares one way or another? It doesn't mean anything anyway. You could have a million posts, but you remove all doubt of your knowledge when you put fingers to keyboard, that simple.

As to the thread serving no purpose, that is your opinion and yours alone. Half the threads on this site serve no informative purpose as the things being discussed are available by just searching.

This is my opinion and noone else can take it from me.

Humor? Where is the humor? I think another forum for "Childish Behavior" would be suitable!

Post counts

I lost all my post counts last upgrade to this site. I to believe we should do away with them. After all they have nothing to do with quality of posts, or our great opiniated bunch here..... I kind of like to stir every once in awhile, it keeps everyone on their toes and gives a different perspective. I respect ALL opinions on this site, not that I would make them my own... ...

Well Michael, your idea of childish behavior maybe

anothers idea of humor. Opinions are like A$$holes, we all have 'em.

Spoke with Kevin via PM today, he really does have a viable solution that may end the early deaths of the lift pumps, plus he has a new mod he's using that's helping in other areas regarding performance. Imagine that.....

You'll have to speak to Kevin regarding these mods, but it's not a story. I'm done here.

Bigsaint, I think there's some confusion as to why I took the action that I did here. Here is a transcript of one of the posts in question:

Whitemore built a custom, aerodynamically styled, roof-mounted fuel tank with 1" diameter supply hose running straight to the VP44, thus providing the system with reliable, never-failing gravity-fed fuel

That's my guess, anyways.

No, he moved to China! Everything is upside down there and the fuel flows right from the tank to the pump with no problems!

Posted by Bigsaint on 09-10-2002 10:43 AM:

Yep, he sold it, quit the TDR ( that was his last post), bought a Honda civic with a loud stereo and 50 HP muffler, and now is taking it to the street as a exotic dancer. Least that's what I heard.

Scott W.

Naw he mounted a windmill in the bed to run an air compressor.

This pressurizes the tank and forces fuel to the pump. Picked up 125 HP and 300 pounds of torque.

Can we please just get rid of the user's posting count number on these messages? I didn't realize there was a contest. I think that will go a long way in ridding this forum of useless posts. Please?

The second post started with this:

1250 - 1300 max egt 12k load @9k elevation

My NEWEST set-up for lower egt has proven itself to be the greatest... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... I LOVE IT... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Kevin

Kevin states himself in his reply to me that "I had intentions of sharing them but was trying to do 2 things , one to stir the whiners and two generate some interest or anticipation towards some fantastic bombs" and that "Thanks for the test Steve , I was wondering what I had to do to get a strike on me, your system has passed ,I guess. " It's obvious to me that he knew he was going to cause discord amongst the users with his posts. I'm sure you are aware of the recent happening in regards to the other forum. Here are a few of the threads:

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/...&threadid=55148

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/...42&pagenumber=1

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/...&threadid=55144

While he was well within the guidelines posting what he was in the other forum it caused me approximately 10 hours worth of work in dealing with the complaints and making the programming changes to resolve the situation. It was mentioned by several people that if we made the changes that we did to the other forum that it would bleed over into the regular forums. Then roughly a week and a half later these posts show up in the regular 24v forum and Kevin himself states that one of his goals was to "stir the whiners". We are trying hard to reduce the level of antagonism and bashing here on the site because there are many users that are put off by it and some are leaving the site because of it. Humor is one thing, purposefully posting things to inflame others (baiting) is something completely different - it's called trolling and won't be tolerated here.

Now there is an idea that I like. How many more posts do we need on the edge EZ or the BHAF...

Its time for a "Sticky" notice on how to use the search feature and repetitive posting .

Steve, I understand and respect your point of view. Perhaps it would have turned out different if Kevin just listed what his new mods. were, but he didn't. Guess I'm partially to blame as well for adding a few comments, they were just meant to be humorous.

If we are going to keep the senior members on this board, we really need to do something about the repetitiveness of the questions. I don't have the answer and I know that you guys have tried with the updated FAQ's, but there still is the never ending new threads on BHAF, Edge EZ and comps. , gauges, etc. , which are asking questions that have been answered here 100 times over.

Perhaps the members could take charge by simply replying to repeat question by stating " do a search", but that maybe a bit harsh as the search isn't always up to snuff. Like I stated before, please don't take what I'm saying as me being a know it all, far from here and the first to admit that I'm still learning every day. Just need some new and exciting break throughs to hold my interest. The humorous posts ( IMHO) by Kevin, Doc T. , etc. , were enjoyable to me.

Scott W.

The new people that subscribe to this forum don't know how things work here, and you expect them to know to do a search?

That are asking questions just like you and I did when we all first joined, gosh were is it going to end,I feel sorry for any new member that will get flamed just because he didn't know to do a search first on the BHAF or something eles, they ask because they want what we all want a top notched truck to go with a top notched site, but some here will gripe about anything and everything.

I sure willnot recommend someone visit this site anymore, what for so they can get bashed it the face for asking a question?

NO WAY. .

When I was new, I asked a question on here that had been answered and beaten to death many times, but I had no clue beforehand.

A more experienced member simply did the search for me and pointed me to a few threads with the info I needed. I got the hint that this site has a TON of info and all I needed to do to access it was to learn how to search. If I couldn't find what I needed or wanted to know using the search, then I'd post the question and hope for the best.

I thought it was handled professionally by simply doing that.
