2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Leaky front 4X4 axle

My 1997 4x4 has a gear oil leak at the gasket between the front axle housing and the front axle control assembly. Is there actually a gasket there? I need help determining the parts needed and dificulty of resealing this joint. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by "front axle control assembly"

I mean the mechanism which controls engagement of the front axle.

I believe it's just a gasket, or some guys just use RTV.
