LED Blinkers

Anyone changed out the blinkers to the super bright led conversions. I lost the web site for the LEDS that someone posted awhile back . Thanks RJ

LED Turn signal lights

You may have a problem with LED signal bulbs due to the very low power draw. They don't draw enough power to make the flasher operate properly, and you will get a fast flash indication the a bulb is out. There is no after market flasher for our trucks.

Wow - - Those things are expensive. I wonder how hard it would be to make a pair of them?



Will a resistor in the light wiring, maybe at the flasher, make the lights bink slower?



What about the electronic flashers? Will they work better than the bi-metal ones with the LEDs?

The current flashers ARE electronic. The flasher senses current in the circuit and will flash rapidly if it doesn't see enough current—as in blown lamp filament. A resistor in parallel with the LED array would probably fool the electronic flasher.

The quastion is where do one get the leds. been to few elec shops,all i got were the deer-in-the-headlites-looks..... anyone???

Have to agree with C. D. here. Like everything else on the 98. 5+ electronic Rams, even the flasher is a complicated electronic gadget. If there was a good source for these, other then the dealer, it might be good to carry a spare, as your not going to find these at the auto parts store. I see a trip to the wreckers in my future...

Center High Mt Stop Light

I installed a 61 LED High Mounted Center Stop Light on the rear of my camper shell. It is really "BRITE"! Costs $20 at a big rig truck parts house. Had to do a little modification but works great!

What kind of shell did you mount the CHMSL on? the existing one on my Snugtop shell has burned out and looking for options. thanx.

Denny is right. I have LED's on my flatbed AND there is not enough current draw. My flashers flash fast all of the time. I have searched high and low for a replacement flasher. None to be found, dealer item only. I ran a resistor pigtail for a while that plugged into my trailer plug, but the vibration kept getting to it. Hey it was a $2 experiment, not a permanent fix. A resistor in the wiring done properly would cure the problem, but I would much rather have a bombed flasher. The resistor defeats some of the purpose of the LED's because it adds load to the system. My knowledge of electronics is somewhat limited, but there must be a way to bomb the stock flasher to get rid of the current sensing portion of the circuit???



Grote does make a LED flasher, but not for the newer 5 terminals like we have. Maybe in time and with enough requests they will.
