yea your light is probly got a bad connection. i cant remeber if it has a bulb of its own, but if it does it may be burnt out. reason mine is always on is cause i unpluged the seatbelt switch to kill that buzzer. and it always thinks its unbuckled. i found the buzzer headquarters tho :-laf. ill get you some picutures of it this weekend. it basicly controles all the buzzers and warning lights and crap. im going to identify the ones i hate, and terminate them :D

exactly my reason for unpluging the alarm. i just cant comfortably drive a manual, especially the Getrag with a belt on, and as tall and skinny as i am i put that set pretty far back, so to get fifth i gotta reach out ther.

Seat belts are buzzkill, they just ruin a good time, kinda like safety glasses and... .

I better end that one right there. Jimmy, you really ought'nt listen to me too much... I'm not a good influence.

well i dont no if theres a whole lot for you to currupt. :D between my diffrent jobs over the past few years i think ive been influenced enough for a while. Lanscaping since i was like 7-8, and still to this day. Construction for a year, Tractor Supply Co. for 2 years, and now John Deere Mechanic for 1 year and counting... . i would say the guys i work with have a much better chance of currupting me far worse than you do :-laf, no worries.

No, that's the load rating Jimmy.

Matt, I coulda figured it out the other day, what I did right there, I did as I was typing. If I sat down for 5 minutes I coulda had it easy. ;)

The seatbelt etc buzzer, is a square box, 3 x 3 x 3/4, right of the column, and up a little. Mine was blue, but I've seen yellow ones. I took the one out of my 95, and sent it to my buddy with a 92. Same thing, but his old one buzzed, mine chimed. :-laf

On seatbelts, gotta have them here, get a ticket if you're not wearing one. #@$%!

OH! And I have a wire to my seatbelts, but I never saw a light. :D

Jimmy asked the load rating question. C'mon man, you can poke fun, but you can't even tell us apart?

Hey, I had that figured out pretty quick, its just a matter of getting it from the ol' attic to words in a way that another human being could understand. I sometimes have to slow myself down, as I tend to talk as I'm thinking, and where I have it worked out in my head, by the time it hits the paper you need the rosetta stone to figure out what I'm trying to say.

And for the record, you're talking to the guy whos gotten 20 tickets in the past 2 years, the little $10 seatbelt ticket doesn't scare me. I have two under my belt..... no pun intended.

give the guy break Pete, he had to spend most of his time trying to figure out how he could word what he already knew in a way my dumb mind could grasp. :-laf

20 ticketts??? mercy. im ticket/offense free, thankfully. which is amazing the way i drive, specially in the cummins, the ol' getrag likes to run :D

I'm not a bad driver or anything... the cops around here have nothing better to do with their time, and I stick out like a sore thumb. Most the tickets are for absolutely stupid stuff, too. One was I had a real little bit of mud on one of the bulbs for my rear liscence plate, and I got a ticket for "defective registration equipment. " One cop pulled me over and tried to give me a ticket for something hanging from my mirror, but he couldn't because it was just my CB cord hanging down. I've had to blow 0. 0 numerous times in order for cops to let me go. Once was in the middle of winter. I was in a t-shirt and jeans and it was 20 degrees out and they had me doing field subreity tests behind my truck. I've also proven a cop to be a liar in front of court using nothing but his own testimony to foul him up. After he backtracked 20 times to try to get his story straight, everyone could tell he was lying, and I still got a ticket.

Now days I basically treat cops like they treat me. The come up to the window and I just waste their time and make sure theyre sorry they even pulled me over. It's really ridiculous and it makes me violent angry to think about the stupid stuff that I've had to pay tickets for. Add to that the cost of my insurance is astronomical.

I am now all worked up again having had to talk about this. Lets just say the justice system here in New Berlin and surrounding area really has nothing to do with justice, and everything to do with how many tickets they can hand out.

Oh, by the way, one ticket is for my stacks. "Illegal modified exhaust. " If you read the fine print, most states, anything other than the factory exhaust system for your vehicle is illegal on the streets, unless you have hobbiest plates. I wonder if they've told Midas this... . ?

Oh, and for what its worth, I would like to add that I had $1000 worth of tools stolen out of my truck, and have been held up at gun point, and some how the cops couldn't find either offenders... . REAL criminals. My little brother's friend got mugged for his mp3 player on the way home from school. Can't do anything about that. My buddies dad's cabin got broken into and torn apart 2 years ago. They know who did it, but because of some twist of the law, still have not filed any charges. Another buddy had his race 4 wheeler stolen, wrecked, and left in a field with a blown ($4000) motor. They know who did it and by law, can't touch the person and can't tell him who it is either. So... justice?

errr... ... now you got me goin... . this is my hot button.

shoot, sounds like good ole yankee hospitality right there! hhahhahah

most of the cops in this town dont bother. they know us guys who drive the big (usually ellegal) trucks. a couple years ago the cheif of police died. the knew guy is overs zealous rook who neeeds to be taught a lesson. for example. there are three main parking lots in town that you can usually find anywhere between 2-15 trucks in at any givin time. mostly late friday and saturday nights, but during the week to. it used to be that the cops wouldnt even bother you even if you dropped chain in the parking lot... . hell the sheriff even decided to judge a pull one night! that slowly got banned. then they somehow got the ability to throw up no loitering signs, hah... . they dont do no good anyhow. well as of december new boy cheif in town has some knew laws for the locals:mad:

if anyone is caught in a parking lot "loitering" they will be warned once, and on the second violation, they will spend a night in jail and be fined!

i was sittin in the lot beside a buddies truck, sheriff pulls up, we both lay down in the seats, and he's so low to the ground he couldnt see us... . no big deal. what torques us off, all these little ricers are allows to gather around and do what ever the hell they want all night, but when the mudd slingin 4x4 come rollin in, theyre all gettin their panties in a bunch. I make it a point to keep as many guns in plain view as i can. helps keep the light hearted away.

Oh boy! I took up with a bunch of criminals!

I wasn't confused on who's who. I fixed that post so you guys don't get confused again.

Matt, around here 1st seat belt, $50, 2nd, $100, goes up from there. The law has been in effect long enough, I don't think the $50 is there anymore.

And by the way, I always had a speeding ticket on my license for about 6 years. They go off after 18 months. I only went about 1 month without, then  I got a new one! :-laf

The might have outdoor rated ones... I'm not sure. PT, you got this one?

Only 2 of my tickets were for speeding. The rest were stupid stuff. Lets see how good my memory is:

1. Speeding: 50 in a 35 (only one that wasn't in one of my trucks)

2. Offroading in a park

3. Failure to control vehicle (smashed the back of a 4 runner)

4. Tresspassing (offroading in a construction site)

5. Speeding: 40 in a 25

6. Illegal modified/loud exhaust

7. Failure to yield at stop sign

8. Expired registration

9. Littering

10. Tail light out (fix-it ticket)

11. Failure to wear a seatbelt (forgot to pay it, they suspended my license)

12. Expired registration

13. Failure to wear a seatbelt

14. Driving with a suspended license (13&14 were given at the same time)

15. Defective registration equipment

16. Driving with a suspended license (6 days after 13&14, got 15&16 at the same time)

17. Expired registration (forgot to pay, suspended license AGAIN)

18. Driving with a suspended license

19. Driving with a suspended license

20. Driving with a suspended license

Now, at this point you're all thinking the same thing: "those tickets are your fault. " What doesn't really come through here though, are a few things.

First, I've probably been pulled over in excess of 60-70 times altogether. Most of the time they were looking for something to give me a ticket for, and most of the time they had nothing on me, so they had to let me go.

Second, eventually you get to a point, after having been pulled over numerous times for such stupid stuff, and sat through court only to be reminded that you're just a dumb kid and theyre the law, it doesn't matter what really happened, you're guilty because the cop said you were guilty, at that point you start to not so much care what cops, judges, or DAs have to say. Then all of a sudden, paying $75 to register your truck (now its up to $106) seems asinine, considering that you've already tried obeying the law, and that got you nowhere. You also would rather not wait in line for 3 hours at the DMV, and pay $50 to reinstate your license, when you lost it over a $10 ticket in the first place. Not having a license doesn't stop you from driving either, as I said, what reason do you have to follow the law? Its called black will. If you're going to get punished when you haven't done anything wrong, you might as well do something to make it worth it, right?

Career criminal: someone, who when at an earlier stage of life, is punished routinely and harshly for minor offenses, and later commits larger and larger offenses based on the fact that he has already be classified as a criminal.

Last, most of the time I get pulled over, they have no reason to pull me over in the first place. They see my truck, and jump on me like flies on... well you know. It really is annoying. My dad even realizes how stupid it is that they won't leave me alone. He told me I should just pull over as soon as they come up behind me. They'll follow of course, cuz thats the way they are. And when he comes up the the window, I'll say "If you have a reason to be following me, then tell me right now, otherwise, get out from behind me and leave me the hell alone. "

Jimmy, in Va, they won't bother for a loooooong time. (no salt) ;)

Matt, it's obvious you are a hoodlum! ;) :-laf

Mine were mostly speeding, expired reggie, no inspection, that sort of thing.

Here in NY we have to have an annual vehicle inspection. Lights, wipers, steering, brakes, exhaust leaks, tires. If it came with emissions stuff,(air pump) it must on and functional, belt on etc. Basic safety, and on newer stuff, no service engine lights. You have the vehicle hooked to the computer, which communicates with Albany. (state capitol) and it says pass or fail. If it passes, you get a pretty colored sticker for your windshield, which has a hole punched in the month done. This sticker is obvious to the nice policeman who is trying to make his quota for the week. ;)

Sometimes you forget, it won't pass and you gotta fix something, or what ever, and the used to be nice policeman writes you a ticket for the wrong color sticker, which isn't so pretty anymore. :{

All we have around here is the emission test stations. And those are in Milwaukee and surrounding counties and Madison and surrounding counties. Diesels are fully exempt from any kind of testing. My Ramcharger I had tested when I first got it. It failed... horribly. So I ripped the catalytic off and licensed the thing as being kept at my place up north, where the only thing that pollutes more than the truck are the chain smokers driving them.

alright boys, tonight i made up little circuit bord to screw into the fender under the hood. just a scrap of 3/4" plywood with some old gray primer on it. this way i can have only 2 or 4 holes in my fender, rather than 8 little ones, besides its easier to screw into wood than sheet metal. its all goin in tomaro Lord willing, relays and the whole deal. wish me luck. think i figured out the diagrams in the FSM so im hoping for the best :)

(all those little red tabs are the 'eyes' im going to use to attach the wire, i just put them on to get an idea how the wires will lay)
