camper help

the back of the 3500 is alot higher than the front . i know you can let the back down but can you raise the front . my 5er sets at 7'' clearance at the front of the coach . and 5 1/2 '' where the tail gate is . just wondered if this will level it out some. if so what kind of leverlers do i need.

I wouldn't do anything to the truck that would compromise the ride or the warranty. The only thing you can do, (I wouldn't) is to put sand bags in the bed.

For some strange reason the beds on the new trucks are deeper at the back than the front. It makes no sense to me why they did this. With my slide in camper in the truck it has more clearance in the front than in the back and looks like the front of the camper is sitting on a board. When I saw this I measured the rail height and was surprised that the back is higher. When my fifth wheel is attached, same thing. Why no level bed rails is beyond me. Must be for "Style" or something.

I moved the spacer blocks from the bottom of the spring pack to the top reusing the same U bolts. The rear of the truck, empty, is still higher than the front and when my 5er is connected the truck sits nearly level and provides enough clearance over the bed rails. This approach does mean that with a capacity load on the truck it will probably be low in the back, but I will probably never carry that much weight. If it ever becomes an issue I will just move the spacers back down.

You would need to significantly overload on my 3500 to run out of suspension travel with the spacers removed on my truck. At about 400 lbs below GVWR, I am just on the overloads and still have several inches of travel before it would hit the stops.

there are several companies that offer "Leveling Kits. " I have one on my truck and it rides just fine. No issues, and it rides the same as "stock. " Tough Country and Kore are to that come to mind right away... . Good Luck!

I was worried about this with my dually, but with around 2400# of pin weigt, my trailer is level and my truck is level, and I'm still off the overloads. I was going to get some ride rites and do the spacer block flip, but my set-up is nearly perfect as is. I'm at pretty much 7" all around. Look at your fiver, the floor under the forward part may not be level, either.
