Hi every one

are there 2 parts to a mach. lift pump engine driven and hand pump I think mine might have quit today if I pump the the primer side

truck will start and run for a few seconds then stop pump again and it will start again. Can it be replaced by an elec. pump? if so can

it be wired to ign. switch so on and off with key?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes it is two pumps in one, but there aren't many electric pumps that will provide the pressure and flow you need, plus being dependable. If you can find one it will cost more than a mechanical one for sure. When replacing the pump also replace the 90* hose (about $7 from Dodge) and get a couple studs to replace the bolts. With the studs it is a simple matter to hang a gasket, then the prefilter bracket, the second gasket and the pump. Put a little red loc-tite on the nuts and unless you drive the miles I do you will probably never have to do the job again.

Have you checked for leaks sucking air? I'd say that's more likely than pump failure.

Have the rubber lines been replaced? Is the fuel heater still there?

I just took the fuel heater off line and am going to try it this way. where I live in Arizona it does get into the 20 over night but I do not go anyware till around 9 so it should not be a
problem I hope. I will post my results THANKS FOR THE HELP

I haven't had a fuel heater for years. Started no problem with the temps at -15c while in Canada a few months ago.

I got everything put together yesterday pm and drove it about 20 miles ran good no problems. got in this morning and it started fine
drove about a mile and a half and it started the same thing again. You can push on the go peddle and it will not go anywhere and then it
dies and will not start right away wait a few minutes and it will try to start let it sit for a couple of hours and it will start but run rough
and will not idle. Can a failing injector pump be the problem? I have been told the injector pump has some problems the timings has been
set way advanced to compensate for the problems the pump has is what I was told by a local mach. that I took it to before I bough the
truck Any thoughts will be very helpful THANK YOU

Three weeks ago my Mule died in the drive way after I had started it. Primed it and would run for a short time(ran ruff). Had it towed to mechanic's, I suggest to him lift pump or a big air leak ( I had spare lift pump under back seat from Geno's). They put it on. Last Saturday it started and ran a short time and died. Same symptoms primed it would start run a short time then die. Had it towed to Mechanic's. They found that the ball in the overflow valve had got stuck. Was running good but I decided for safety sake to have a new overflow valve put in (tried to start it the next day with old ofv in it was hard to start and ran bad. ) New ofv in starts great and runs good(Mechanic put it in. )
