Thanks to Hopper's pressure guage I discovered my lift pump was going bad. My first test at the injection pump showed 12 psi at idle, 11 psi at cruise, and 4 psi at WAT.

I took it into the dealer and told them my story. They asked me how I knew anything was wrong and I showed them the TRD issue 36 article on "fuel transer pump news". They had it in the shop for about 10 minutes and said it was bad. Within an hour I was on my way home with a new pump.

The pump number is 5015723AC which is not the same pump that is listed the the TDR article but I now have 16 at idle, 14 at cruise, and 11 at WAT. I currently have 41,855 miles on the truck.

Thanks to TDR I am staying ahead of the game !!

:D

This was my first lift pump replacement. I plan to upgrade the fuel system after upgrading the transmission (triple-lock) , and adding injectors next month. I was hoping someone would come up with a bullet proof way to bring the fuel system up to a dependable level. I plan on keeping a close eye on the new lift pump.
