For anyone that doesn't have a handle on this, lsensus just described the worst case scenario. I've seen many many cases where a dead truck goes into the shop and the lift pump is found to be bunk. Upon replacing the lift pump it is then noted that the injection pump is gone as well!
I know of a similiar case this week in Utah. The vp44 won't live without adequate cooling (via diesel fuel). If your lift pump dies, FORGETABOUTIT!!!
The Aero Motive pump I am using is working well IMO. Don't worry about a reg, most pumps are internally bypassed/regulated. Mine runs at 15psi. I recommend eliminating the oem pump on the engine. Locate a good pump at the tank and run adequate size new wire to it.
