BINGO!!!

For anyone that doesn't have a handle on this, lsensus just described the worst case scenario. I've seen many many cases where a dead truck goes into the shop and the lift pump is found to be bunk. Upon replacing the lift pump it is then noted that the injection pump is gone as well!:(

I know of a similiar case this week in Utah. The vp44 won't live without adequate cooling (via diesel fuel). If your lift pump dies, FORGETABOUTIT!!!

The Aero Motive pump I am using is working well IMO. Don't worry about a reg, most pumps are internally bypassed/regulated. Mine runs at 15psi. I recommend eliminating the oem pump on the engine. Locate a good pump at the tank and run adequate size new wire to it.

What is the part number of your Aeromotive pump? I was looking at the 11203 and the 13301 regulator.

Do you have photos?

I was looking at the Aeromotove pumps also, there tech support is great! I bought the Street rod fuel pump, and the pressure regulator.

AFter cutting the line to install it by the tank, and dropping around $50. 00 on parts (relay, hose, fittings, etc) I hooked it up. FIrst time I did not use the regulator as they promissed me it would have 18-20 psi Dead Head (f you plugged the end of the pump. ) Fired it up, 45psi! Then fule started ******* all over the ground out of the pump. Called them up, and again they were real helpfull, "must have had some locktite stick to the regulator spring" and the high pressure blew the seal.

I bought another pump and this time the regulator. Hooked it up, started it up, pressure right at 16, so I turned it down to 14, then I notice, full ******* out of the pump!

Took all the stuff off, sent it back and put a Cummins pump back on in the stock location (I had to leave to go camping)

Plus the pump was loud even though I had rubber isolators between the frame and mounting bracket as well as the nuts on the inside of the frame.

You said you 'bought another pump? Didn't they replace under any kind of warranty? Or did you blow out the stock pump? Popping pumps does not sound any better than having them die by themselves!:--)

HVAC: Which Aero Motive pump model # and how long have you had it installed or miles? Did you just lengthen the original wires from old pump to reach new one? This forum has me afraid to drive. My truck seems to run fine but yesterday I screwed a 0-15psi guage directly into top outside plug hole on filter cannister and got no reading with truck running. I lost my 1st pump @ 60k towing a trailer uphill. It started bucking, downshifting and heating up until I leveled out. Stock 99 4WD QC 112k Used everyday approx 200mi. Steve in Ca.

Being in a hurry, I had to buy the replacment then return the defective to Jegs for my money back. When I was done I lost $7. 99 shipping on 3 shipments, plus what it cost me to return everything

Hi Folks: Just recieved issue 37 and immediatley turned to Dave Wilsons "Lift Pumps Revisited" article on page 48. Dave says my stock truck dosent neet pusher pump in the rear and he sticks by it? Hey Dave are you my warranty? Do you work for D. C. ? Pusher's coming and pusher's going on... ..... Steve in Ca.
