Hey gang, I have a question about two paint colors. My 2000 is painted Light Driftwood and I see in 2001 Dodge dropped Light Driftwood and have Bright Silver metallic. Are the two paint colors different or just a change in name?

Different but, don't think that all "light driftwoods" are the same.

Mom has a 99 CTD, Friend has a 99 Durango. I thought the Durango was bright silver until I saw the paint code.

Eventually we park them side by side and I was right, the Durango "LD" is brighter than the P/U "LD". Both USA vehicles.

FWIW.

Yeah, I agree that LD can be a couple of different colors or tones. Seems like it can be either silverish or goldish. As far as codes go, I know RFK and QFK are the silverish tones and are used interchangeably. I think PFK may be the goldish tone. I would think Bright Silver Metallic would be a different paint color.
