Off Roading offroading spare drivetrain parts.

I'm :{ to announce that my 37" Goodyear MTRs and lift are going have to be uninstalled. I'm going back to stock sized Michelins for an extended towing stint.

Anyway, I know that that's not going to keep me off of the trails. I need a way to allow me to keep my truck somewhat 'wheelable.

Since I'm going to be changing my rear diff fluid I figured I'de look into restacking the plates to tighten the l/s up. It never did work too well and was nonexistant after going to the 37s. I remember once upon a time there was an excellent article explaining the procedure and giving the Ford part #s needed. Does anyone still have this info  , or could they reproduce it? I still can't afford a Detroit, but can't afford to be getting stuck either. Loosing traction can be hard on body panels:eek: . Thanks to any that can help.

I recently restacked the LSD on my 3500 2wd. I got the LSD clutches/steels from randy's ring and pinion. The parts were about $100. Get the B. O. M. number off your axle so that they can get your hte right rebuild kit.

My impressions... . it is very stiff. In fact, my rear end is completely locked up now. I'm talking spool-tight. I put some friction modifier in it this weekend. Still tight as hell.

I think I'm gonna look into an ARB.

Thanks for the info... it sounds like it would be just tight enough for me:D . Maybe it'll encourage me to drive sainly. I wonder if it'll stay that tight? I'll give Randy's a call- Justatruck

I have 3500 miles on it. It hasn't slipped a bit. I don't mind the tightness, but I destroyed the new rear tires in 2K

ARB doesn't make one for the 35 spline 4. 10. Looks like I'm going with a Detroit

Thanks for the link, I still hadn't gotten around to calling anyone... maybe this weekend I'll try to try this out. - justatruck

When customers go to the dealer with complaints of a tight

rear end, the techs add even more friction modifier and then do

some figure 8's in the parking lot.

It's worth a try.
