Tire Load Range Ratings

That's pretty good. I just looked at Gas Buddy, prices range anywhere from $2.36 to $2.85 within 20 miles of me.

In Arizona there is an $0.08 per gallon tax on big trucks over the normal tax so a lot of stations are confusing. Some charge the pickup rate so big trucks are not allowed or they charge the truck rate and give pickups the 8 cents back, if you go in and ask for it, or they have both prices and lanes.

Yesterday when I was at the 76 station I watched a bobtail big truck fueling in the car/pickup island at Maverick, (they have truck lanes). Pretty sure he knows better, but who/what monitors that?

I'd imagine if DOT saw him filling up they may have something to say, aside from that I wouldn't know Nick. That's a real crock that they tax an additional.¢.08 a gallon, diesel fuel already gets taxed above and beyond gasoline for the supposed wear and tear on the roads
No doubt they do cause wear and tear but I don't know that it's anymore than the passenger vehicles also on the road that outnumber diesel many times over...

One thing Ohio does at most truck stops, and I've never understood it, is provide a cash price and a credit price which includes swiping a debit card.
I don't know what the difference is to them.

Some stations do that here too. I think it is the credit card charge that the banks charge the vendor.

The big truck tax here is based on over 26k. I know my son is registered for 36k but fuels at all the pickup lanes, as I am sure all pickup sized, high gvw vehicles do, so....

I get $0.06 off with their Nitro card.

I have a credit card that gives me 4.25% cash back on fuel purchases at the pump, no limit. When I was working a lot more than I do now it was good for a thousand a year. Free money as long as the card is paid off each month and no interest is paid. With diesel hovering at $1.79 in this area that is still over 7 cents a gallon.

26,001 lb registered weight and above does indeed throw one into IFTA territory. I’m registered at 38,000 lbs (more in some other states as reciprocity is weird).

Dang! Got a safety recall on my PJ dump. Kind of hard to understand but something is wrong with the hydraulic cylinder and the down pressure relief valve on the pump. They talk about cylinder bolts failing. The only bolt on the cylinder that I can think of is the one on the end of the piston rod that holds the piston on.

Since they are talking about failure on the down side it has to be it. I assume it is too small or possibly threads stripped during assembly and the piston can come off/fail. That during the final down seating of the bed on the seats that sucking it down against the relief valve will/can cause an issue. I definitely do that so the bed don't hammer on the bed seats during empty travel on rough roads.

They estimate about a 2 hour repair, so I assume that will just be a new pump and updated cylinder rod/piston. The scissors frame/cylinder is welded in so that would take more than two hours to replace. The cylinder rod is the only part that is serviceable, the barrel mount is also welded into the scissors frame.

Gotta share some pictures of my son's latest cell tower foundation prep. $30k for one 6'x18' hole, it took 14 hours to drill. The operator said they just did one in Bolder City, NV. that was 11'x40'.

My Son just received the same recall.

Yes, '20-'21 DE models. It must be these bolts, I had forgot about them. My Lamar is built the same way. They are already grade 8 so maybe they will just replace them incase they are compromised with the high pressure pump and the actual fix is the low pressure pump. Better not slow my dump cycle down:D

Dang, seeing my son's new Diamond C trailer might push me over the edge. I have been looking/researching the Diamond C, FMAX208 for some time now and have several quotes. Two dealers in Texas and one in Utah are all real close. One in Colorado wanted to sell everything on their lot but what I wanted, Arizona did not respond. Not surprised, plus they would be way more anyway.

The trailer is a 102"x28', max ramps, sway control, winch plate/receiver, drivers side tool box, ratchet rail on the driver side with 6 winches, spare tire (17.5) with 8k torsion axles. About 2k in options w/18k gvw. This will include the 16" engineered beam main frame and Fleetneck gooseneck w/bolt on jacks. They claim they are the strongest and lightest on the market. My son's trailer is 7300 lbs, same as my 22k dump.

Welp. I lost my new trailer already and got mine back:) He sold his Big Tex so he used mine for his next job. 2.5 days on that cell base in Tuba City. He said they had to pump the concrete 300 feet because of a really bad sand pit, that's as close as they could get with the pump truck.
