Does that one have the lift/riser or whatever it’s called to clear his bed and run level?

Did you read the link, or do I gotta hold your hand? It don't say it does, so most likely not. That 6" taller riser is usually special order. What will the new/rebuilt truck be?

I still think the low pro BX1 hitch will work on a standard riser for him. My truck is tall and works fine. The top of the tail gate is 55" from the ground with 8" of clearance between it and the bottom of the gooseneck horizontal beam.

Hey Ron, all GN trailers come with an adjustable coupler.

I am pretty shocked they would even consider replacing the frame....please keep us posted!

I would also bet the 10-12 week lead time could easily end up being more. I just bought a 2020 dump trailer, nobody around here even had what I was specifically looking for. All the big dealers said maybe by end of June (this was early March) and also would not quote me a definite price. They could quote me a price for today but the prices have gotten so volatile and materials so scarce. Things will go one of two ways in the next few months....just food for thought if he is thinking about ordering something and holding out.

The one he has has a lift of some type to get proper bed clearance AND allow the trailer to run level. Stock will not work.

I wasn't sure what it was called, yes I needed a little hand holding!

Knowing my Son he will want to have it set higher with bigger tires if he buys another truck.

If possible he would likely buy his truck back at the right price with a replaced frame.

He did try the standard height trailer originally but it sat out of level by too much and ordered the lifted model.

Crappy thing he does not have rental coverage on the damaged trailer. Lucky for him he is borrowing a friends 14k tow behind.

With the Dexter Tork Flex axles its good to run the trailer level.

Hello Cummins 12V98, your son doesn't need rental insurance on his trailer since the accident wasn't his fault. The person who caused the damage owes for the trailer rental unless your son is using his own insurance? If going through the other carrier they should be paying for him to rent a trailer. He talked to body shop today. 4K for the frame and 80 hours @ $120. So that plus 19k original estimate puts it at around 33k.

i am betting They will will want to fix it.

He ordered a replacement yesterday the same as totaled rig. He is going to get a quote for same axles with disked and HydraStar actuator.

Son asked about changing to disks. “That is not available on this unit” was their response.

Hauled 5 loads of wet dirt yesterday, about 24 yards. Due to location of the cell tower, there is no room for excess dirt. At about 33' deep and 4' in diameter the drill broke. The finished hole will be 8'x33', so more dirt to haul when they get running again. Note the narrow path for the skid steer, 66" wide.

Because he is a dork He started in '06 with one truck and now has five, yet he is still running like that. I know for a fact he has been told to get them.

When I bought my dump in early April the owner of the dealership in Carlisle said the trailer manufacturers were no longer doing quarterly invoices because the price and availability of materials have become so volatile they had to start billing monthly to cover the price increases. I'm afraid we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg right now.

Did a partial oil change on my oil bath axles I had two plastic caps leaking so I replaced them all with Valcrum aluminum ones. They have a drain plug and magnetic fill plug, should be easy to change oil. This is on my Lamar dump, 8k axles. I didn't pull the hubs and do a full oil change and flush because the unitized seals are kind of delicate and didn't want to damage them at $48 each.

I do need to change oil more often, (3 years) they were pretty black. I used 75w/140 synthetic, I think the original fill is synthetic and didn't want to mix oils.
