locating trailer brake controller

Wondering if anyone installed theirs left of the harness connecter receptacle that comes with truck. My old truck was over on the right but was thinking about using that area for something else. This has probably been discussed before but I have just arrived. (93 club cab for sale).

I had mine to the left on my previous truck and was always hitting it with my knee when I got out of the truck.

Brake controller on the left, CB radio on the right. I'm very happy with the setup.

I've asked this before too and the only answers I've found are either on the knee bolster or in the upper cubby hole. They don't recommend mounting anything on the bolster in case you're in a wreck, but I don't want to loose my upper cubby space. I guess I'll go with the bolster.



Another thought is to put it where the ashtray is.



The CB is another big problem. Unless you have one of those all in the mic type, there are very few places to mount one. I also have a nice pistol safe I am trying to figure out where to mount - wanting to mount it out of sight.



BTW I have the Jordan brake controller and love it. At least when it was in my 95 CTD Ram.

I'm running a prodigy controller and Cobra 25 CB. Both fit very nicely on the knee bolster but I have long legs so the seat slides all the way back and hitting the knees isn't an issue. I'll try to get some pictures to post here so you can see what I have done.

How about in the storage space under the middle front seat?

Unfortunately I don't have the better seat with that option. Had to settle on the standard seat. But I think with a little modification of the seat frame under the middle front seat, it may slide in way under the seat by the floor.
