LOL.... International engines going into GM's

A buddy of mine who has a friend of his who works at Navistar told him that in a few years GM will not be using Isuzu motors anymore they are going to use international motors. They may still call it the duramax but it wont be isuzu making it. Since i highly doubt both ford and GM will use the same motor block i wonder what they have in store for the GM's. . Hopefully a inline 6 motor. .

Might be the 466 they are putting in the new International CTX. It has 220 hp and 540 ft/lbs torque. :-laf

I'll believe it when I see it... every month there's a new rumor about one of the big three going with a different manufacturer for their diesel engines... and every time, the rumors are false...



why on earth would GM go with a Nevastart?!?! not saying the Isuzu is that great of an engine, but it's a heck of a lot better than the 6. 0!!!! LOL!

The big Duramax is inline. The 6. 6 is a V8 as most people know. But the 7800 is inline! At least they got that engine design right.

Let's say your prediction about Ford comes true. Then the question is, will Ford insist on writing their own programming like they did with the 6. 0? Or will they let Cummins do the programming and just drop the engines in the trucks at the factory?

Cummins will not risk getting their name tarnished by allowing another company to screw up their programming. You don't have to worry about that.
