I have the Psychotty filter. I like the reduction in EGT's it offers and don't seem to have a noise problem with it. It is the K&N filter I that would like to eliminate. With out the stock airbox, I am thinking of a some kind of round housing with a big Baldwin filter or something could be fitted up. I am thinking I could route the intake air through the same hole I drilled in the firewall.

Anyone else do this or have a suggestion for a filter source?

Look at the Fleetguard AF932 or equivalent. It is cylinder type which is a bit larger than the 0880. I am running one in the open now with no routing to the firewall. I think bowhunter just about has his ready to go also. If you want details then please email.

Yep! Thanks for the replies. This is what I have in mind.
illflem,
I know your familiar with tractor filters. Do you think the filter within a filter setup would be too restrictive? My little MF 1260 has this as well as the Case I just got. The Case has a 5. 9 Case diesel with this setup. Looks like a 4" intake too. I may just pop it off to try in the truck with and without the inner filter.

Looks like a Donaldson airbox. I have all the Donaldson catalogs setting in front of me. There is special catalog dedicated to air boxes. The catalog is called "Engine Air Cleaners, Intake Accessories and Service Parts" - Catalog # F110027. I going to be adding a Donaldson airbox and filter once I get all my current bombing parts installed.

You can browse their web site at http://www.donaldson.com

I just called them and they sent me the entire catalog set including a price list.

Eddie, thanks for Donaldson,I was going nuts trying to remember the name on all of my
tractor air filters.

QRTRHRS,When you consider the size of the factory airbox filter a round filter would
only need too be about 3-4" in diameter and 12" long to have the same surface area.
The inner safety filter on the Donaldsons isn't finer it's just there in case the outer filter
rips or you introduce dirt while changing or replacing with a filter you've cleaned.
Good idea if you ask me. I replace my tractor filters after 4-5 cleanings, you probably
know how dirty they can get,I've seen over a 1/2" of dust on them without the check
filter lights coming on or power loss, the inter filter will be totally clean. I think the
size filter on a 3 cylinder Massey would
allow more than enough flow on our trucks which operate in a relatively clean
environment. If you come up with the part number that will work on our trucks I'd
also be interested,please post it.
I'm going to delete my post with the picture it makes it too hard to read the others.

Toolman,
Donaldson does not appear to be very forthcoming with a phone # on their web page. Do you happen to have one handy?

Thanks,
Mike
