Looking for back up lights

I had the guys at work make me an aluminum diamond plate Hitch cover for my truck. My plan is to install the RV plug, Block heater connector and some back up lights in it. I have the first two items but am still looking for a small clean looking set of lights to flush mount. This will end up kinda like the white knight deal but should look better. Wiring etc. is no problem, just looking for a Light source :-laf

I like the sound of 10$ lights but have been having trouble finding some that will flush mount. Think I'll install the rest and wait until I come across some lights that do it for me. Maybe a walk through the local junkyard would help.

The tractor flood lights I bought from Orscheln's could be trimmed down to make them flush. They just had extra platsic sticking out to help protect them.

If you go someplace like NAPA you can get lites like on big rigs. They are about 3. 5" in diameter and mount in a rubber gasket in a 4" hole. A lot of equipment trailers use the same style for taillites etc. The clear ones throw quite a bit of light.

I've had a pair on my Freightliner as load lights for over 650,00mi with no problems.

Thanks T-Bone. They look like what I want and a lot cheaper than most. My night vision is getting pretty bad. I use my mirrors to back up and at night it is like backing up into a black hole.

Those are nice lights at a reasonable price too. Did you mount them with a switch somewhere in the dash or how do you have it set up in the cab to turn them on? I have always looked for a neat and good place to put a switch, but never found a place that looks right.

when i did my first set of back up lights i used a relay to activate them when the factory lights came on, no switches. they worked for a while but salt and road grime took its toal on the relay. i would find a better spot for it when i do it next. i think i am going to put a headache bar on mine and mount some there this weekend. i do road construction so i kinda need them up there and i will also be putting in some amber strobes on it too. that way its all up out of the way of the salt.

I put a relay and a switch in a box up under the bed rail (Velcro works wonders) and ran the wires up behind the tail light. I ran some 10 gauge wire from the battery to the lights for power and some 16 gauge wire for the relay power. The relay is triggered by the stock backup lights. The switch can be used to turn them on from the rear of the truck when not in reverse (key off power). The switch at the rear is nice for shedding some light on the boat after pulling out in the dark. I had planned (and even ran wires) for a switch in the cab. I just haven’t had the need to hit the backup lights from the cab so I never installed a switch up there.
