I am looking for a fuel pressure gauge kit for a 2001 CTD... the kit would include all tubing, connectors, etc. I would like the gauge to have a sending unit that can be mounted in the engine compartment away from the engine and then run an electrical signal/cable from the sending unit to the gauge... ... . I would prefer not to have tubing running into the cab.

I saw that Piers has a kit (http://www.piersdiesel.com/Gauges.htm), but it appears to use tubing to the gauge.

Any help would be appreciated.

genos garage, they are in your turbo registry book. they also sell the banjo bolt kits with the fitting for the gauge sender they sell the westac electic unit for 69. 00 also they sell the banjo bolt kit with washers for 33. 75 thanks

Call Rip Rook at Source automotive. He just put together a FP gauge kit for me, between the two of us we figured out all I needed. Mine runs fuel into the cab but I'm sure he could put together what you want.

A friend of mine purchased two Cyberdyne LED guages from JC Whitney. It was sold as an oil pressure guage and will read from 0-85. It has a remote sending unit so no tubes in cab. He mounted it in the top of the fuel filter can. Screwed right in. The guage reads 4lb with key on and not running. It reads 15lb running at 2000rpm and 11lb at idle. Is this the right application for this guage and the right spot to tap fuel pressure? PS, a second one just like it works excellent for oil pressure.

FO SENSOR MOUNT LOCATION

CHobbs, I personally wouldnt mount right to the Fuel filter, there is no way to isolate from vibration and you risk a chance of the sensor failing. I think you have your pressures backwards or least I hope so... 15 psi at idle and 11psi at 2000.

I would recommend a greast hose or something to that nature and remote mount it, also put a needle valve to dampen against pressure spikes. You can still tap into the fuel filter with a hose. My sensor takes reading after the fuel filter so I will know when my filter is starting to clog. There are many great ideas on how to mount the sensor and such, I am sure you will recieve many more, take the one that best fits to knowledge and ability and Bomb on!
