Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Loose Spring--Where does it attach--accelerator rod

At the end of the accelerator rod, next to the injection pump is a pull spring. When I had to replace a broken accelerator rod, this spring was "hanging" loose.



I cannot find any place that looks like it should be attached to.



These two photos show where the spring is located on the accelerator rod, and where I attached it to the forward side of the accelerator mechanism.



Can anyone tell me where this spring is actually supposed to be attached?

That spring should be pulling the throttle closed. Mine is hooked onto the edge of the inch square hole in the bracket, directly to the rear of the mounting stud that the plastic clip attaches to.



BTW, you need to add another 0 to the 250 in your signature. Dodge don't got no stinkin' 250s:-laf
 
This is the set-up on a '97 automatic. If you would like send me your ESN or Truck Serial Number and I will get you the graphic to go with a manual transmission.
