I am not sure about shipping fees cod. I would say from what I know Darin is making progress My equipment is being shipped at the beginning of the week Monday. I would just order it and get in on his list. This Guy is the nicest person you could want to deal with. As soon as my equipment is installed, I will post a report for you all.

Loose Steering Box

I'm going to fabricate my own I've seen enough from a few pictures to do it and I can fabricate anything probably cost less than 30. 00 US. I've also got a problem with Canada stealing work from U. S. companies you see all Canadian shops are government subsidised so they can build things cheaper because the goverment will make up the difference. Sorry about the political comments I'm a Tool and Diemaker by trade and the last 2 years have been difficult to say the least. Manufacturing in this country is dying.

Neibe

Here is your opportunity offer your product and abilities to us.

I buy alot of stuff from Canada. why because its not available in the states.

I do not look at borders or nationalities Just products and opportunities.

Now I am supposed to get bashed!!!

Neibe-Where did you get your stupid information about Canadian shops being subsidized and Canada stealing work from US companies? You are totaly wrong and dont have a clue what your talking about. Your going to build your own,so now who is stealing.

Neibe-I've gotta take offense to your statement that "all Canadian shops are government subsidized". This statement is possibly true when applied to megacorps like Bombardier, but not to a little guy like Darin. In fact, the converse is true-between federal and provincial taxes and various other BS rules little guys get squeezed pretty hard-I daresay harder than on the south side of the 49th... ...

The man has come up with a good idea to fix a common problem on our trucks, he's selling it for a fair price, and he seems like a real good guy from what I've seen on here (I have his phone # but I haven't called him yet-waiting for his backlog to clear up a little!). IMO he deserves every cent he makes off this deal.

Being Canadian, I try to buy as much stuff as I can from north of the border-not necessarily for quality or nationalistic reasons, more because of the hassles in parts crossing the border (although most of my hassles there have been with evil UPS  ). I've had bad experiences with Canadian vendors-nobody on here though. And I've had excellent luck with vendors on your side of the fence too-the one that really sticks out in my mind is DT Fabrication-they called me at home one night after work to chat about some control arms I was looking for and to let me know about some of the new stuff they had coming down the fence. I guess what I'm trying to say is if a fella gets tunnel vision about buying from a specific country or a specific brand or really, anything else in that nature, you can miss out on something good. Hey, you might even make a new buddy along the line!

I don't want this to come off as a rant or a flame, more like an intelligent discourse between acquaintances :) . Now to keep the thread on track, I will say that I plan to buy one of these braces as soon as Darin gets caught up a little bit-don't want to bump one of my southern friends out of the lineup! :D

Well said Jason. I could also make this myself, but Darin thought of it,and by the time you chase everything down,is it worth your time?Depends on what you earn and how valuable youe time is I guess. For the price he's selling it for ill buy it from him, this way my conscious is clear aswell,i didnt steal anything ffom him design wise.

Personal Opinion

Canada stealing work from US companies. What a joke. If you want to point fingers, keep it between the US borders where it belongs. If we would raise enough He'' here and and stop being like sheep being led to the slaughter, maybe WE could get something done here. Every politician in Washington is multi-millionaires, now you tell me what they have in common with the working man. There are very few companies here (US) that haven't sent their work south of the border and overseas. Here is a man (Darin) who came up with this fix and offered it to us at a reasonable price and yet some of us not only have to fault him (cost too much) but we have to put in a dig at his country. If you don't want to buy his product, FINE, but don't fault the man or his country. Moderators, if I said anything beyond the guidelines please delete this post.

Neibe,

Lighten up man. In this case your anger is misplaced. If you want to pirate his idea so be it. But there is no reason to insult our neighbors.

Thanks for the help guys I am glad others have said what I was thinking. I love the canadian peaple. I grew up On the St lawrence river Newyork side. I am confident that Darin Has no intention of Harming the american economy, with his awesome Idea. who cares who is profiting from it. Money and the flow of it is what will Keep us all above water. Opportunity is everywhere for anyone one in any place that can imagine and think and not be afraid to work. I wish to thank Roy and the Gang in BC 100 mile house for the excellent job they do for me on the log homes I sell here in the Great State of Georgia. Thanks Canada. Bash my friends In Canada You bash me as well. Build your own version and shut yur pie hole!!!

Best regards Patrick Haymond

I would just like to add that I am going to buy one from Darin as soon as his back log is cleared up. I would also like to add that I feel Canada is a great country and our friends.

eh???

I ordered one already... Who cares who makes it as long as it works!!! My Dodge was made in Mexico, my turbo was made in Europe, twicked in Canada, injectors in USA, some replacement parts in Taiwan.

Get a life, support all vendors who make a quality product, at a resonable price , regardless where they are.

This is a free country and we should encourage free enterprise!!! Enough said.

Steve

darin is from canada oh no.

oh well hope he got my check by now for the two fixs i ordered

and i did call his house and talked to his wife. and i think both of them are really great people.

cant wait to get my fix so i can put it on.

so how are they coming yelloweyes?

Niebe,

No one here has stolen any work from anyone.

Our idea created work for us.

Blame mega corporations for farming work out to

overseas factories and the average consumer for

being willing to buy inexpensive merchandise for a lack

of work in North America.

Manufacturing is dying here also. The handful of

businesses taking part in these brackets are all small,

locally owned shops who are most certainly not subsidized;

they are unfairly taxed and saddled with far too many regulations

if anything. They are looking for any work they can get.

I personally am very pleased when I can buy something

that says "Made in USA". I always thought we were on

the same team.

Marv

I have decided that niebe is not worth my wasted time on any more comments regarding his Position. I will finish by saying Thank you Darin and the others who are helping him for your offering your idea to the rest of us. Its folks like You that make our trucks better and make our world a much better place to inhabit. Thanks again Darin and the others like you. Our country needs you as much as you need us.

Patrick Haymond.

That part I will agree with . But I sure don't see Canada hurting us on that . I think a couple of fellows in Washington that blessed us with some things like NAFTA and some Free Trade Act (or the Chinese NAFTA ) can be thanked for that. That is where all our factories are going , leaving an awful lot of Americans unemployed , desperate , and looking at a very bleak future .

Darin certainly didn't do this . He is actually creating jobs for Americans . Why , as soon as I get one of those fine products from him, (which I also could make, if I wanted to stoop to stealing his idea ) , I am going to pay myself union scale for laying out in the dirt and installing it (on my American made truck).

Disclaimer : no political opinions :-{} were expressed in this post. Just the facts. :D

Man people, I think you have dragged him through the mud enough. Neibe, FWIW I know what your going through. I have been unemployed more in the last 2 years than I have been employed. If it weren't for my wife I would have had to sell my truck 6 months after I bought it.

As for the others, whether you like it or not he is entitled to his opinions. As for making it himself, more power to him. I would too if I could. It is a dog eat dog world out there.

For the record, I don't agree with Neibe and will be buying one of these steering gadgets from Darin. Great work Darin and Co. :)

Guys,

These brackets still don't have a name!!!

I know you guys can come up with something creative.

Steering box bracket whatchamacallit just ain't cool enough.
