Apologies to the Air Force in advance

Had to put down my 10 year old dog Max yesterday. He was diagnosed with a tumor about 2 months ago and his health declined pretty fast. Needless to say, it was a very sad day.

Max was a long haired shepherd that we picked up from the pound. He had the best disposition you could ever want a dog to have. He didn't have a mean bone in his body. Loved to play with anything or anyone. His favorite bed was the back of my truck. He logged many miles riding back there with his face in the wind. I know he is in a better place now that is pain free, but I still wish he was around. Thanks for listening.

Sorry to hear of your pain, but your right he's in a better place. I went through it too. You know going into that this will be the out come. Remember, even God needs a best friend.

Sorry for your loss. Sometime in the future you need to read "Marley & Me" by John Grogan - it's about the life of his 13 y/o lab. It was funny & sad - brought a tear to my eye when he had to have Marley put down. My 7 y/o lab got some extra attention that night.

Sorry to hear that, I know how you feel as I have a German Shepard that I am going to have to make a decision on soon as she is getting past the point of no return. I hate it but I guess she will be better off also as she is in pain a lot of the time now.

I know what you're going through - I lost my co-pilot to kidney failure on February 28th. I guess I'm like Will Rogers who said, "If there are no dogs in heaven, just let me go wherever they go. "

Really sorry to hear that Don. I've had to put down several dogs so I know how you feel. Keep your chin up.

Dual EE,

I'm very sorry to hear about your buddy. I lost mine in a similar fashion a few years ago. I still miss having him around. Again, sorry for your loss.

We went through that with our Rottweiller in May 05, so I know it's a tough thing to go through. We're finally (this Thursday) getting a new puppy. (another female Rott) While no dog will ever replace our Sammi, the new one (Emma) will be a nice distraction. :)

Hang in there... .

Three years ago my dog had to be put down. Unfortunatley I was away at college so I got a call from my parents. I really wish I could have been there to say goodbye.

I got another dog that lives me with now for the last 2. 5 years. I'll be beside myself when its her time. She loves to ride in the bed of the truck! If she gets off her line and runs around all I do is fire up the truck with the tail gate down & she will come running!

How "BIG" was that dog? The rear of your truck seem's to be a tad bit low. :D

I had to add a bit of humour, losing a friend is hard and a smile helps. I have lost a few pets and the mutt I have now is going on 9 yr's so I know it will be coming some time for him also.

I do not have the beer to get into his story.

DualEE, Sorry for your loss, a "mans best friend" is 100% true

"Ride" said to my dog Dozer (2yr old yellow lab) puts him into a frenzy and he books it to the truck door.

I never like to see a dog lost... that will bring a grown man down.

Hope youre well

Ian

EE, I wish you the best... Over the years, I've found that getting a new dog quickly (give it a month between) is the best.

I miss every dog I've owned almost every day. My first dog, Zeke, a bloodhound, was the best dog I ever had.

Tough tough loss.......

We lost our Abby (yellow lab) on 19 June 06 - :{ the guys here helped me a lot - there is nothing quit like the love of a dog... ... it is complete and honest... . our hearts go out to you..... be sure to get another ASAP - no replacement - just in honor of your old buddy... ..... these are more than just pets - they make huge places in our lives and hearts..... :)
