I was driving down the highway everything fine and wile passing another car heard a loud pop and throttle went to the floor but i was loosing speed managed to roll to the shoulder.

Did the throttle cable break?

Called roadside # and they sent a flat bed right out and hauled it to the dealer.

Sounds like an intercooler connect boot blew off... Now Did the accelerator pedal go to the floor all by itself ..... or could you put it to the floor and the truck would not go?

well the dealer said it was the throttle cabel , said it snaped

wont get the truck back till tomorrow, they had to order the part

Service guy said he has seen this problem before on the older trucks94-98 but never on the newer ones.

I think the pop was when the cabel /wire snaped , not shure

the service manager , thinks it might of been frayed a little when it was installed and eventually let go.

I am a dodge dealer tech for the last 15 yrs. and the pop you heard was it at the pedal or did it sound like a backfire I have never had to replace a throttle cable on a 24vavlve. usually its and intercooler hose, which loosen up all the time. or the injection pump took a dive. which happens quit often
