My 2 cents

I just had to put my 2 cents in. Bought 05 from Tommy a few months back--let me tell you It was the BEST new truck/car experiance EVER!!!!

EVERYTHING was as promised, a full tank of fuel--good interest rate, good discount----if I EVER need another Dodge, or can steer ANY of my friend to Tommy--you can bet your shirt I will---- :) :)

thanks again Tommy

Way under invoice ?

Way under invoice? I had a green sheet Tom. :--) Don't forget about the finance guy cursing in front of my wife and I, very professional.

I know you had a greensheet, I did not want to post personal info about your purchase ability, thats why I did not go into details

And I do remember the cursing - But that was not me, That was the finance guy... Which I am sorry he acted that way, but I can't control his behavior

If it was "Chaney Motors" - He would have been fired THAT DAY... But I am just a loley salesman

No hard feelings, Its been a year, and he was reprimanded(sp) harshly on his paycheck - I hope he learned his lesson

I bought my 04 from Tom, it was the worst experence I have ever had. I will never buy another truck from Lou Fusz again. I took it to Southtown Dodge for the recall, I bought a 1999 from Southtown Dodge and it was the best experiance I had. They were very nice there unlike Tom at the other dealer. The only reason I bought from Lou Fusz is they had the truck I wanted, I wouldnt recomend Lou Fusz to anyone!

Your comments are an awfully harsh criticism to post on a national forum without offering any justification or explanation. Tomeygun and his dealer principal could probably sue you for slander. Comments like you posted don't have much credibility without stating facts so the "accused" can respond.

slander?

Truth is the defence to slander, I can not be sued for stating the truth. I have just as much right to comment on my experience as being bad just as someone has the right to comment on their good experience. I do not want to argue I am just stating the facts about my experience!

Bought my truck from Tom back in May 04 and drove it home 1200 miles :D . Got the exact deal that Tom quoted me on the phone and his price beat every other price by a long shot. Tom is very professional and does a great job and I can't imagine any other salesmen in the country who is as good at what they do as Tom is. Keep up the good work Tom. I have referred several friends to Tom and I think one is very close to buying and I will continue to do so. If there is anyone out there and I mean anyone who is interested in a new Dodge Cummins, look absolutely no further than Tom Chaney at Lou Fusz Dodge. You will not find a better experience anywhere in the country!!

Tom, did my buddy ever come in to test a new truck? Haven't heard back from him since he called and asked for your name and number.

I am really glad for all of you that had such a great experience with Tom. I had just the opposite. I hope everyone elses experience with Tom is better than mine. I asked him to get numbers ready for me that I would be back. I returned to find him on the phone about his mortgage and had nothing done on my deal. I left in the am and returned in the pm plenty of time. I wasted a 60 mile trip. When we left my wife arranged financing and that is how we got the great rate. When I returned I had a green sheet and this deal should have been cut and dry. We waited a long time for them to get the truck ready and the finance guy was the worst. Tom got a no effort sale from us because his dealership had the truck I was looking for. He did not do anything for me! That was my experience. I do not wish anyone to have this same experience that is why I replied. All of you have a great day and good luck in your truck buying experience with Tom. :)

Lou Fusz

I live in Fallon, NV and I bought two trucks through the dealership. Bill Miller was my salesman. I bought a 2004 Dodge Rumble Bee and a my current 2005 CTD. I flew to St. Louis, bought the trucks and drove them 1800 miles home. Great experience!!! My current 2005 CTD MSRP was $49,595 and I drove it off the lot for $39K. Oo. Oo. Oo. They will also do any customizing you want before picking it up i. e. Linex, exhaust, or tinted windows.

Sorry to hear this, but I'm sure there is more to the story that what we are seeing from you. With that being said, like Tom said, if you were this unhappy when you were buying the truck you should have been a man and told him then and there, not wait and post it on a internet website  Easy enough don't you think? Sorry your experience was so unpleasant, but I see no one else who had this outcome by working with Tom. Like I said, looks to me you blew the thing out of porportion and are trying to give him a back name. No need for that here, as you can see 99. 99% have expressed an above average experience with Tom. No one is perfect, guess you had to be the . 01% :D Good luck.

BTW - we just did our first set of DVD players in the headrest's of a dodge ram diesel --- Its pretty cool, nice 7 inch screen with built in DVD

Pricey though

I am not trying to give anyone a bad name. I am just stating my experience. After all information is given everyone can form their own opinions. Mine is bad. Others are good. I think it is fair for everyone to be able to talk about their experience. That way we are all well informed and can make wise decisions. We can weigh the good with the bad. I do not know Tom on a personal basis, do you? I am sure he is a fine person I just had a bad experience with him. We all have bad days, maybe it was just one of those days for both of us. However everything I said is true. My wife wanted to leave, but I had been looking for this truck for a long time, and I wanted it real bad. I sacrificed good service for the truck of my dreams. My bad. I know that alot of people travel a long way to buy from Tom, and I think it is fair for them to have all information. Good and Bad so they can make well informed decisions. Wouldn't you want to know all information so you could make an informed decision? I agree that I should not have bought this truck from Tom he did not deserve the sale. But, like I said he had the exact truck I wanted in stock, and I wanted to drive it home. I could explain the entire experience in detail if you would like. Otherwise, I was just letting everyone know what my experience was. I do agree with Tom on one thing. That the finance guy was way out of line and should have been fired!

I'm surprised another dealer didn't try and make a deal to trade or buy the truck (from another dealer) for you. The dealer I bought my truck from scoured the planet (well the planet within about 400 miles of me) in search of a truck that met my needs exactly. I watched him do it. That's what made me decide to buy from the dealer I used coincidentally, the fact that instead of just saying we can't get what you want and pushing something else on me, he spent well over an hour of his time (when other sales could have been made) in order to try and find me one so I wouldn't have to order. Ended up still having to order, after taking more time out to go through the list and see what I wanted and what I could live without, but that experience sat well with me.

I'm just surprised one of the other dealers didn't try that method to aquire the truck you wanted, instead of just giving up on a sale like that... Unfortunately I have nothing else of value to contribute to the thread beyond that.

Ya know, I think that because I had a greensheet and no one was going to make a big profit from my purchase, that they weren't willing to put that much work into it. However, if they would have I would have never forgotten it and would have defenitly gave them repeat business. I also would have refered my friends and family as well. Actually my father in law bought a new Dodge last year also. Just as you remember your good experiences you also never forget the nightmares either. I think Tom had commented to me that any salesman that sold to me was only going to make $100. 00. This may be the cause for the bad service. Shouldn't matter, but I am sure it does.

Ok I recognize I'm a bit off topic but gotta say this. The salesman feeds his family on commission and a bit of spiff money. When he's working a deal for a hundred bucks and the customer is grinding relentlessly, it's hard not to turn his attention to a deal with better payoff for him. Remember, the dealer has a right to SOME reasonable profit. If you are shopping dealer to dealer to dealer salesman know you'll leave them dry for a couple hundred bucks in another state. It's a fact of life. the loyalty in car sales is a two way street. treat them with a bit of respect, understand they are human, and you'll be surprised at what you get in return. In your business when a customer calls on the phone, doesn't care about your business, and demands your absolute best price for your product so they can take that number to your competitor and see if they'll beat it by 50 bucks... how do you react? You're tying their hands. Sorry about he rant but i feel that people forget that a sales transaction is not a battle of good an evil, but two guys trying to do the best they can.

Good news about that now thought - Chrsysler reconized this and now we salesman are paid differently on EMP. purchases...

That said, your right, there is never a good excuse for bad service

While not in a position to purchase a new truck just yet I can say that Tom has been nothing but friendly, prompt and very helpful in the preliminary stages! I think his attitude and of course the great price quoted has convinced me that going the distance to <st1:city w:st="on"><st1 ="">St. Louis</st1></st1:city> is what I will be doing when I'm ready to make the big purchase.

By the way- what in God's name is a "greensheet"? A D/C's employee's "ticket" to the employee price?

Funny story, back in the day, The Chrysler Employee (it was not DC back then) would get 4 "greensheets" - It was a physical piece of paper that was green and had specific info about the EMP purchase (hand carry that paper to your dodge dealer)... Well of course now it is all electronic and the DC employee gets 6 purchases a year, and it is as simple as getting a 6 digit number from your computer or a hotline...

The term "greensheet" still sticks though, even though there is no actually green sheet/paper involved

ok, That enough useless knowledge for today :D

 Wow!! When I normally post a topic, I'm lucky if more than a couple of people respond. Guess I hit a nerve here. Thanks everyone for your input! If I can work out the rather expensive delivery costs to South Florida, Tom has my business.

Since I missed this one, I figured I'd chime in now.

I ordered my truck with Tom last week. We'd been talking back and forth for a couple weeks now via email and telephone. Sometimes he's hard to get a hold of, he's very busy. Finally somewhere between the three deliveries he made that day, I got a hold of him and ordered the truck. No complaints so far, he explained everything very clearly about the incentives and price, and I feel that I got a great deal. I haven't yet met Tom, nor set foot in Lou Fusz Dodge, but when I do, I will have EXACTLY the truck I wanted, and nothing else, because Tom ordered my truck exactly how I wanted it.
