That's good mileage congratualtions!:) My Mule has averaged 19. 1 mpg the last two years(mostly highway) but Florida is pretty flat not like driving thru the states above it.

mine has gotten crap for mileage ever since i installed the ddp stage IIs, i think they used a dull drill bit to finish the nozzle ports, i get 13. 5 pulling a empty flatbed car trailer the speed limit or 5 under on the interstate, can't wait to get my 330 marines back in there #@$%!

Last tank went 1182 miles on 44. 773 gallons for 26. 4 mpg. ($188 @ 4. 199/gal. . or most importantly... ... . $0. 16 per mile)

But wait!... . the EVIC says I was getting 28. 5! (lying piece of junk... . )

Although it is fun to watch passengers faces when they see the display showing 26-30 mpg as we're running down the road. :-laf

I usually got in the 16-18 range, but on a recent trip, my wife drafted the moving truck on I-40 to Texas going only 65 with a camper shell and got 23. 7 mpg. I would have called BS on it in the past, but sure enough.

'94 reg cab 3:54 gears Empty

140hp over stock Dynomite Diesel injectors.

I see 19. 6 highway and about 17. 5-18 in town depending on various factors.

My valves need adjusting so I'm sure that isn't helping.

Our "new" Bone stock 98 12V 2500 4x4 5 speed 3. 54 - - just knocked down 18. 3 mpg pulling a loaded 2 horse bumper pull. Not sure the weight but only 1 horse and lots of hay and feed. This was all highway at 1800 rpms. This is exactly why we bought this rig and it is flat awsome.

FYI - stock tires and exahust... then we cut the cat off and only were at 10mpg but the muffler was rattling... cut it off and bam... . huge gains. It must have been blocking the flow.

very nice my 97 only gets 15 or 16 empty. big stick cam 285 toyo tires 4. 10 gears not sure the fuel plate but slide full forward timing way advanced tag and keeping it to 70 mph. the curious thing is i get 12mpg pulling 23k lb horse trailer 65 over 6% grade. hopefully my new fuel system ( vulcan draw straw, fass fuel pump, heat sink fuel cooler, and ddp stage 1s will bring it up a bit )

For whatever reason the MPG on my '96 has increased slightly over time. It will turn 20 fairly easily on the highway moving right along at 70-73 MPH. I have 17" 3rd Gen wheels on it and old DDP injectors and a 175hp pump but last year on a trip to SD and back I kept clicking off tanks between 20. 5 and 20. 9 running close to 75mph, hand calculated. Truck does good for 450,000 miles.

I like my '01 I got recently, it'll do 21 pretty easily and have topped 22 rolling along at 70 but it's a 2wd automatic.

As for towing I've gotten better mileage with 24-valves, my previous '01 and this one, mainly because I tow out of OD quite a bit. When you wind a 12v up much past 2200 RPM they really start burning fuel faster than a 24v.

There are a lot of variables associated with fuel milage, with speed and tire pressure being high on the list. I enjoy watching my fuel milage so I am always checking it. On a recent trip from Snowflake, AZ to Roswell, NM I was amazed at the difference between the trip down and back.

On the trip down, home is 5800' elevation, Roswell is about 3600', it was a cold day, no wind and I drove the speed limit, it's a slow rural road, I got 22. 7 MPG. The return was warm at about 80*, stiff breeze and up hill overall, I got 20. 1 MPG. As a daily driver for the past 10 years, on a 66 mile round trip, I can expect 20 summer and 18 winter. This is with the '01 in my sig.

My 98 12v 4x4 has been getting 14- 15~ish @ 75 MPH.

I have 265 tires, 3. 54 gears and a cap on it.

I bought a timing tool set. I dont know why it sucks so bad.

I've even tried to keep the RPM's below 2K and it's not significantly better. (15~ish)

I have 370 injectors, BHAF, and otherwise stock. The UTE bumper didnt help matters.....

I'm going to set it at 18 or 19 def BTDC ans see how it does.
