Hey guys, I am a little confuzed (yeah, I know, what else is new! ;) ). Yesterday I was digging int the engine compartment and had accisentally knocked the vacuume line that goes from the booster check valve to the low vacuum warning switch (the one mounted below the hood hindge on the fender). When I knocked the hose, it came off of the switch end.

When I was driving I obviously had brakes that were not great so when I got to my location (about 20 minute drive) I went under the hood, saw the hose, and reconnected the hose.

My question is, why did the light on the message center not go on? There was a lack of vacuum right?

If it helps, the light on the info center does work! Already checked!

You may be confusing the ABS light with the brake light. The brake light is in the speedometer cluster.

Huh??? Hows this? The light under the pre glow light is for ABS? Also, there is a light in the speedo cluster??

I figured you would get an ABS and maybe a Brake light, since that is a low vacuum switch. You might want to check continuity on that vacuum switch with and without the hose connected, it may be stuck. Do you still have your ABS hooked-up?

The red light by your wait to start will come on with low vacuum. My '92 would have the light on all the time so I changed the sensor and the light went out. The same thing could have happened the other way the sensor stuck so light won't come on. When you put your park brake on this should light up as well.

The light by the wait to start does work as ocationally in the winter when the truck is idleing at a light, the light will come on. That makes me think it is not stuck.

As far as having things hooked up, the ABS is still connected.

When I have a low vac on either of my trucks, 1990/1992 the brake lamp and anti lock lamp are on. These are on the message center just above the heater/AC controls.

The Brake lamp on the speedo cluster, if I recall, is a brake pressure/differential warning. I'm not real familiar with that lamp though. I'd have to look in the manual.

I just drove my truck this am for the first time in many many months, so I'm not real familiar with anything at the moment.

Niether of my brake lamps work with the parking brake. They will illuminate if I trigger the switch w/my hand but not with the pedle. This is the lamp on the message center.
