my 18 tradesman g56 does exactly what your truck does. up hills constant surging/miss. light throttle only. 9000 miles. done it since day one. afraid to take to dealer, because last time i took it in for clutch - truck was there 29 days. cheers!
I've only experienced this on my g56-equipped 2013 2500 in 4th gear. And it is because the throttle is sensitive and a bit of gear lash will make it hesitate and then catch ...... as it pulses, it is hard to keep the accelerator pedal pressure steady. I think this is what the torque management at lower speeds is supposed to remedy.
I run my throttle sensitivity booster in valet mode to reduce throttle sensitivity so slight changes on accelerator pedal pressure don't cause uneven acceleration (pulses/surges).
