Your max boost does seem a little low, but not way off. I think I only had around 22psi of max boost with the AFC tweaked and fuel screw against the lock collar. With that setup I was only hitting a max EGT of 1250*. Sounds very similar to your figures (I'm at 4500-5k feet).
Turning that fuel screw in another turn or two will really make the big difference in power... and EGT's. The single best mod I've done to reduce EGT's was the HTT Stage III hybrid compressor upgrade. I saw a max EGT reduction of 200* and was able to crank the fuel screw in another turn and still max out under 1400*. For comparisons sake, I saw no max EGT reduction at all when changing from a hacked stock exhaust to a full 4" turbo-back exhaust. Water/meth was good for about 100* drop (maybe even closer to 200*) AND insane power too!
