My 2001 stock 4X4 CTD 2500 Ram sits high. I will be getting a gooseneck soon and I am somewhat concerned about the bed height. I know that Dodge makes a bed lowering kit, but it is about $1k when I cheked with the dealer, if I recall.

How much of an issue is this-are most goosenecks able to adjust the amount needed? I saw a similar truck as mine pulling a 5th wheel trailer and the nose was up high... the trailer was not level. Is this a valid concern?

I recently experienced a similar quandry when I bought a new 4X4 that was 6" higher than my old truck. There are several threads here about lowering the rear end. Klenger has arguably the best web site and instructions going. Just do a search on "lowering truck".

the tongue on my trailer is adjustable... Never would have thought that people wanted to lower a cummins. I suppose you take the blocks out and replace with smaller ones?
