Hmm, just looked up an earlier thread and seen when my 89 VE was on the shelf, I got the number off it and it's a 103 pump. What's that make us have, 103, 114, 205's?

Some R&D for ya's  ;) :-laf : Way back when, I had a 93 205 VE on my 89 non-intercooled engine. I had a 14mm pump built and used my original 89 nonIC'd 103 VE for the build. At the time, it didn't seem like a HUGE increase. This could've been in my head, the fact that I still only had a hx35, timing, or the fact that the new 14mm pump wasn't turned up much and the 205 pump was hot... Oh and for quite some time after the install of the non-intercooled 103 VE, I was confused about the workings of it's KSB, so I left it unplugged. Hence the added strain of running around with an extra 7* of timing. Hmm no wonder the bottom end was gone . This still makes me wonder what the best combination of pump parts, numbers, models, heads, etc etc are to use for big HP.

I suppose I could do some of my own R&D:rolleyes:, have a 205 pump built up with a 14mm head, or swap my pumps and dyno again with the big injectors, turbo and 12mm 205 VE on the 89. Course this would mean two pump R&R jobs, time, couple new mounting gaskets, oh and I'd have to wait for Dunbar to come back up this way in the spring, as I don't want to drive 100 miles to gain 100hp on a different dyno :p , one that I've never dynoed on etc... Hmm. . nah. I'll just step down from the big HP race. Who's gonna step up now?

Actually I was thinking the other day, if KTA's truck is down for upgrades, or he's building a new engine (which would mean no HP), Stomp only has a 12mm pump and hasn't dynoed or(which would mean low HP)??? Does that make me '1st gen High HP top dog', since my truck is still on the road and ?? Oo. Wow, this thread went a few directions didn't it. .

Oh! To be young and so full of myself! :-laf

You HAVE been eating that grape jelly haven't you! :-laf :-laf

I think your too deep to just step down know. Besides I got to have someone too beat hear pretty soon :-laf . Lowering the truck this weekend, clutch is in and injector fund is almost there. :D Try the 205 without the 14mm and see what happens. I think you need another turbo and less natural wastegates through out your intake system before you can really use the 14 pump. I'll have to check what pump is on mine I think mine is an early 90 model.

Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a WINNER!!!! :D

Come on Bill, if it isn't going to be a dyno queen anymore, what are you going to do with it? Start competing in the DHRA Super Street Class? ;)

You'd be surprised how much your EGTs will drop with a sealed intercooler. I dropped 150deg at cruise in mine.

Daniel

Hey, you forgot the 184 pump on the early intercooled trucks. And, are you SURE the 103 is the original?

Get married , buy a house, that will take care of your time/cash and R&D  :-laf

Then have a couple of kids, there goes the rest of your time, money and sanity! :{ :-laf

Hey, they have ways to prevent the kids.

I like GL's idea, less the getting married. Oh, wait, that describes me..... No, she bought the house, and I just fix on it from time to time

Yeah, I did that after the OOOPS! :{ I figured after the "accident" I better take control. Now I tell everybody it's to lessen the chances of getting caught screwing around! (She doesn't see the humor in it. Go figure!) :-laf

Hey! Can we go back to talking about the OTHER injection pumps? ;)

don't get tooooo carried away yet, bill. i now live in the same town as the dyno, and will be getting on it in not too long.

all i can say is that it's pretty amazing what proper fuel/air/TIMING combos can do.

Ok what models were there?? I guess I should look up that pump book Greenleaf has. As far as I know, the 103 is original.

You guys ain't right :-laf. Already got the house, child support, and girlfriend :( :-laf :{ . So that means I ain't got no Stomp money:-laf!

Go get em Swank. I'm sure I could use some of that proper tuning as well. Next thing will be to swap out that ground afc foot for a stocker, thanks GL. Oh and then drive to Iowa and steal me a sexy VE located on a dirty, old, rusty, bobtailed, oversized tire, muddin truck;).

What in the heck is with this infatuation with my injection pump? :-laf It ain't my fault you keep buying these high mileage abused cummins trucks, Bill. Heck, you have way more cummins parts laying around too. I have just enough to have two trucks driveable. Besides, we don't even know what kind of damage I did to the shaft of the pump anyways, last time I had it out.

Now, if I could get somebody to trade all my big block mopar stuff for CTD stuff, then I'd be set!

How do you know it makes 7* of extra timing??? Did you test this???? You will never know what pumps/parts it takes to make big HP.

R&D you don’t even know where to start  And what is this drive 100 miles to gain 100hp on another dyno???? You would probably loose HP for all you know. YOU WERE NEVER IN THE BIG HP RACE!!!!! 450HP WITH A 14MM  Step down. Why don’t you step up and actually do something to prove yourself.

Where do you get your info at. I have my 14mm pump back on. The only reason I took it off was to do some more testing with a 12mm pump that I built. Nothing is wrong with my pickup I still drive it on the road!!!!! I have 2 complete 12mm pumps one 14mm pump and a box full of parts.

I even dynoed this past weekend at an event here in town guess what it was over 450hp on #2.

WTF over!!!!!! Why did you have to drag me into your post? Leave me out of it. You know what I think is funny. Allot of guys think you are a top dog. If they only knew…. . Until you have a dyno sheet higher than mine why don’t you just sit on the porch. Why don’t you try and break 500hp before you talk any more smack.

Look its not my fault I have money. I have bills just like everyone else. I own a house, pay insurance on 3 vehicles, etc, etc. I have credit cards, but I don’t owe anything on them and I don’t have any kids. I have a good job that I worked hard to get. I didn’t just get it handed to me.

We don’t have to respect each other, but leave me out of it or else……. Go back and edit your posts and I will delete mine if the mods don’t do it.

I see that you also live in Indiana maybe you have heard one side of the story?

Well then lets hear the whole story about why you are so ouchy.

I dont have enough time today to tell everyone the whole story. Lets just say that no matter what I do or what I have accomplished Bill just goes  or has something snide to say about it. He doesnt need to drag me into his posts. I wouldnt have even said anything if he didnt mention my name. I thought it was a good post. It brings up alot of good questions about different combinations and what works best.

Yeah, we had a big long discussion about you over tea and crumpets

For what its worth, Bill didn't even bring your name up the one time I met him. Guess he doesn't think this is as big of a deal as you do... but I'm sure you have your reasons.
