Maybe some of you have experienced the same problem I am having. Have a 94' 4x4 ... . just did the whole front end top to bottom... springs, shocks, ball joints, universal joints, wheel bearings, all steering linkage, all bushings, dss, alignment, even all new bolts and nuts. Before all this I installed a thuren track bar... . truck was fine but sloppy. While I was freshining up the front end I figured now is a good time to put a Mag Hytec on the Dana 60.

Truck rides fantastic... . except when I go over a decent size dip in the road the BIG bolt on the Thuren track bar that attaches to the frame hits the top of the diff cover... . quite hard... :eek:I can see a wear mark. Never happened with the stock cover. This happen to anybody else?? What are my options?? I cant live with it and sooner or later I'm gonna hit a dip I dont see and its gonna crack it.

Grind the bolt down??

Longer bumpstops??

Scrap the Mag Hytec and get like a Dynatrac cover or something??

Opinions and thoughts appreciated ... . Thanks

I recall speaking with Don when I was thinking about going with his trackbar. Clearance was a critical issue/concern even with some stock diff covers. I think you'll have to put the stock cover back on. You could surely sell the Mag cover in the classifieds here. Or you could hold on to it and use later on if you decide to convert to a 3rd gen trackbar - I don't think there's a clearance issue with the 3rd gen trackbar and cover, but I could be mistaken. Hopefully someone that has the 3rd gen conversion using a mag diff cover can speak to this. Sorry it's not what you wanted to hear, but I guess another option could be to have someone cut the section out of the cover and tig in a piece where the contact is happening. That would kind of take away from the whole "look" of the Mag cover though?

My stock cover has the bolt head broke off and gouges in the cover. Have 2" leveling kit. Previous owner did the damage, he also had a heavy snow plow.
