The MAG-HYTEC Pans for your Dodge Ram is an excellent product. However I feel that it is not marketed to represent its full capacity.
As advertised the MAG-HYTEC PAN does hold more oil than the stock pan and looks very sharp etc. HOWEVER, it does not address what I like about it.
1)IT KEEPS THE TRANSMISSION RIGID,this transmission needs the extra support this pan provides.
2) The built in ribs helps keep the oil from foaming, your stock pan does not provide for this.
3)The aluminimum material used for the pan helps disipate the heat faster than stamped steel pans.

I refuse to sell any transmissions without this pan. The transmission needs all the help this pan provides when going up against the cummins.

Ditto.

I was impressed with the pan, and also knew it would help to dissapate heat. I did not think about the added rigidity factor.

I do not think it adds any capacity to a '98 or later however.

The fact that it has a drain on it and a tap for a temp sender where the two main selling points for me.

Truely, thanks for the heads up. Had thought extra capacity and cooling ribs would be nice but not really worth the price. But like you said, the advertising makes no mention of the anti-foaming design. Sign me up.

I have used the "Mag-hytec" Differential cover, and just installed the Transmission cover from Mag-hytec. These products are of the highest quality, and the fact they are made from A356-T6 Aluminum is a real plus!

They do as advertized!

I have both the dana 70 cover and the trans cover. The Dana 70 cover quality sold me on the trans pan. No stainless hardware for the trans pan though- an aluminum to stainless corrosion issue exists.

You know I've heard of the aluminum/stainless problem but have never seen it. In my little world of expertise (performance jetskis) all we deal with is aluminum engine parts and stainless fasteners. I've only had one bolt ever gall on me and that didn't even have time to get damp. It was my fault since I over tightened it. Don't see the absolute need for stainless on the trans pan but wouldn't be afraid to use it either.

I just installed my transmission pan from Mag-Hytec and was pleased with its quality appearance.

Liked the idea of extra oil and the cooling fins, but what prompted me to buy was the temp port (I know, that's another discussion)
But I have to agree it is a great looking product. My opinion! #ad
