I saw the ad for the 92 D250 for $800 in the classifieds, and jumped on it. I sent the guy an email, got pics, called and talked to him, and we agreed when I would pick it up. I went to my buddy's house, dug his trailer out of the weeds, checked my truck out top to bottom, pulled some money from a CD I had, got some other deliveries arranged along the way, etc, etc. I got it all lined out, didnt work on either of my g/f's houses for 2 days, then get a call this AM that the guy had sold it to someone who offered him more money. I would expect more from a TDR member, but I guess there are all kinds in this organization. I called him and told him in no uncertain terms what I thought (questioning the marital status of his parents at his conception, even), and that you just dont screw people like that. I am not only out my time, but fuel coming down here, the fees for withdrawing money from my CD account, not to memtion the extra cash I would have made along the way.
I could really care less about the fact I missed a really good deal on a clean truck. It is more the fact we agreed on a price and time, and he decided on a whim to sell it to someone else. I would have gladly given him what the other guy gave for it when I got there Saturday. He said in his email and voice mail that I had said $800 was my top bid, and though there is no real proof, I said nothing of the kind. Would it have killed him to say, "I have a guy coming from the midwest that's supposed to be here this weekend. If you give me a phone number, I can call you if he doesnt show. "

Welcome to Modern America, where no one keeps their word anymore. I am so fuming mad, it is going to be dark before I can leave here without getting a ticket or arrested for something stupid.
Duee to me wanting to take something of a moral high road, I will not divulge the person's name, but look through my thread and the classifieds, and one can figure it out.
