Where is the cheapest place to get Castrol Syntorq for my NV4500? I planned on replacing it a few months back, but called every parts house around and only my 5 star stealer had it. #@$%!

Any advice on how to fill it back up once I drain it? A certain adapter or something to make it easier?

Also I want to change the fluid in the diff's, any recommendation on that? What brand, what weight (I really don't know:eek: ), where to get it?

When doing the diffs I can just use RVT to seal it back up right? But the NV4500 takes gaskets doesn't it?

Can you tell I'm still a newbie?

Standard transmission...

has a good price on the syntorq. There are lots of good dyno and synthetic oils for the differentials out there. The front diff (on my truck) is good to go twice as long between changes (IMO) as the rear. If you tow a lot in hot climate, go with the 85-140. If colder and less towing, the 80-90 should work just fine.

To drain your NV4500 just remove the lower center bolt on the pto cover. (no need to take off the cover unless you want to inspec. the inside) also remove the fill plug it'll drain faster. ;)

Geno's sales the Jay's EZ funnel which makes it much easier to fill :)

as for the diff. fluid I've always used straight 90w with a positrac additive. ( yes sealmate or sim. will work just fine to seal the cover) ;)

tow 26,000 lbs. trailers every day & change rear diff. oil every 25K miles. (prob. change too often cuz I have very little metal on my magnets :D :D
