Oh you'll love the 12cm housing. Not sure why, but it made a lot more difference in my 92 than it did in my early 91. It is a whole different truck to drive in town. No lag, no smoke, and it sounds AWESOME. Make more than about 10psi, and the turbo whine is super high pitched- almost ear splitting.

Daniel

sounds great, are you running straight piped? I remember when I was without muffler and I got a ton of turbine turbo whine in addition to the cold side compressor whine.

sdstriper;1603075. Will the I/C horn fit facing the turbo? Long Intake hose or pipe with hose connectors?[/QUOTE said:
The horn will not function with the cross over pipe. You need to get adapters in pipe or rubber connection form. I use a 2. 5 inch pipe which fits directly to the turbo compressor outlet. (Both are 2. 5 inch)

I have some pictures loaded I could post-up on this thread... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

Where are you guys finding the air side up grades for the h1's htturbo don't have any in stock and the last time I talked to him he was thinking of dropping them . AND is the hx35 a very good up grade over a h1 w/a smaller exhuast housing ????? and will a h1 exhaust housing work on a hx35??? THANKS

Yes, H1C housings will interchange with a HX35.

The HX35 is bigger (slightly) than the stock H1C. Put a 58 or 60mm wheel on the H1C, and it will flow more than the HX. The H1 is basically a precursor to the HXseries turbos.

Daniel

What size wheel is on a stock h1 and the 1 tons are differant right?? Where are you guys finding you bigger wheels, Like what application used them??? This thread has some good reading keep it comming Oo.

Stock H1C is 50 or 54mm, depending on whether you are intercooled (latter) or not. I dont know why HTT says 1tons were different- it was the same engine, and at Cummins, they had no way of knowing whether it would go in a 3/4 or one ton.

STock HX35 is 56mm. Upgrades are available up to 62 or 64mm, I think.

DP

I think the WH1C wheel (and housing) I have is 56mm.

edit:

And it bolted right onto my baby H1C.

Mine was a 50mm and the up grade I did was to a 58mm wheel. The compressor housing has larger plumbing and besides what the larger wheel may do, getting the crossover on non I/C opened up is a great move.

JLeonard led me down this path with the, "FrankenTurbo" label. I thank him and my wife thanks him. No more boring meals in expensive resturants, just Diesel improvements for her traveling pleasure.

Today I'll order a late birthday present for my wife in the form of a watermeth injection set up and on and on... suprise.
