I have a Van Aaken installed which plugs into the MAP. When towing and pulling heavy up hills the engines will occasionally appear to be missing. I have read many times that cleaning the MAP IAT may help but the only one I can find is the MAP. ( I hope) Are they the same type of connection. Do they look the same? Do I have one of each on my truck.

I found two possibles. The one I assume is the MAP is a round connector and is fairly high on the side of the engine just under a wiring bracket. The other IAT is closer to the front(grill) oval in shape and much lower, beside the lift pump. Do I have these correctly IDentified ?

The pics are good but they do not seem to represent what I see on my engine. Will chec the 2 or three wire conection in the AM . The one I assume is the MAP has 3 wires. I have not checked the other connection yet.

i do believe that would be oil pressure

Great diagram. That straightens it out for me. Definetely have the MAp ID correct although I can't seem to find the IAt.

Thanks

Still have some missing? roughness when the Van aaken is on and pulling heavy up hills. This does not happen when the Van AAken is off. Read something about Edge box and using 1-5 ohm resister on the MAP Line in parrellel. Any other ideas??

Just a quick note on this... ... Do NOT torque the IAT sensor to 10 lb/ft..... it will snap it, and removing the threaded part from the motor is a royal PITA!!!! #@$%! I did this yesterday, following the dodgeram.org info. Maybe 10 lb/in, but lb/ft will break it faster than you can blink.

Np, I'll post pics of what 10 lb/ft does to an IAT sensor, when I get my new hard drive installed in my laptop.
